Hever Hotel is located in the Kent village of Hever -- known for its Tudor properties and small, picturesque high street. The hotel opened in June, 2016, and is a 20-minute walk from the double-moated childhood home of Anne Boelyn, Hever Castle -- built in the 13th century. Rich with Tudor artwork and furniture, it also has gardens and a maze to explore.

The hotel is on the edge of High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which is laden with nature reserves and hiking trails. Chartwell House, a National Trust property once belonging to Winston Churchill, is around 10 minutes' drive from the hotel. Guests are a 1-minute walk from Hever Castle Golf Club, which has hosted PGA EuroPro Tour events.

The hotel has a main bar, an upstairs piano bar and a games room with a pool table. Breakfast and dinner are served in the Stables Restaurant, which has a rustic feel. The hotel also has a gym, a sauna, a tennis court and ping-pong tables. Bike hire is free to all guests (subject to availability), and includes helmets and a high-visibility jacket.

Rooms have views of the hotel's grounds, and Wi-Fi is free.

Unfortunately on the second morning it was a self service breakfast which was not very good as the food was just warm and therefore not all that enjoyable.

The only thing I would like to see is, on arrival the young lady didn't seem to be bothered, perhaps an off day, but nothing said about where the restaurant was or what time breakfast was etc....for me first impressions are everything.

Loved this hotel! We stayed one night and had great food and great fun. Particularly loved the beautiful rural location. Two great pubs in walking distance (although no footpath so not ideal in the dark!). Loved the games room upstairs (though piano needs a good tune). Played pool, darts, poker, etc. Staff were delightful and helpful. Hever Castle was shut, which was a little disappointing but our fault for not checking first and still plenty of lovely country walks to do in the area for those without a car. Would definitely recommend Hever Hotel for couples, families and those who enjoy golf/walking/history.

We left on a Sunday and it was difficult (without a car) to get a taxi to the nearest train station. Staff kindly helped out and saved our bacon! Was much appreciated.

The staff were excellent and were friendly and very helpful. The room and bed were immaculate. We had a 3 course meal in the evening which was very good. Shame we had an obnoxious American woman in the restaurant who tried to ruin our evening. Thankfully the staff dealt with her quietly and efficiently. I would recommend a stay here and hopefully we'll go back.

Value for money of the package was good but the cost of drinks was too high - eg: house wine £24 a bottle.
