XO HOTELS PARK WEST
Why We Love This Hotel
- The hotel is in a quiet part of town, less than 10 minutes' walk from Sloterdijk station
- There's a tram stop less than 5 minutes' walk away, with frequent links to the city centre -- the journey takes 20 minutes
- Rooms are soundproofed & have Nespresso machines, walk-in showers & free Wi-Fi
While not in the city centre itself, Golden Tulip Amsterdam West is well connected – it's less than 10 minutes' walk from Sloterdijk station, which runs frequent services to Centraal, and under five minutes from a tram stop that will take travellers into the city within 20 minutes. Tickets are sold at reception, or you can hire a bike for 16€ per day. It's a 15-minute ride to the centre and you'll be in good company -- Amsterdam reportedly has more bikes than people.
Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum are all easy to reach via tram 12, which stops a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel.
The hotel has a distinctly Asian influence to its décor. Rooms are spacious and soundproofed, and have air conditioning, Nespresso machines, walk-in showers and laptop safes. There are also triple and quadruple rooms for families or groups of friends. Upgrade to a Comfort Room for extra touches, such as king-size beds, complimentary slippers and seasonal gifts, such as hot cocoa and rain capes (for autumn), and bottles of water with a cool bag (for summer).
In the morning, a buffet breakfast is served in the D.R.E.A.M restaurant, with eggs and omelettes cooked to order. There is a 20% discount for those who book before they arrive. Dinner is also served here, and Bar D.A.M serves sandwiches, salads and more for lunch. There is also a terrace, which is open in warm weather.
