Vermont is currently limiting travel from out of state — make sure and reviewlocal and state guidelines before booking.
The Woodstock Inn & Resort feels quintessentially Vermont in the best possible way: For starters, it's set against the backdrop of Woodstock Village — home to covered bridges, artisan shops and loads of quaint colonial architecture. It also boasts uniquely Green State amenities like the on-site dairy farm, where guests can sample homemade cheese and ice cream, on top of more traditional resort activities like the Nordic center, Suicide Six ski area, tennis courts and spa.
The hotel itself was originally built by the Rockefeller family, and it still bears Gilded Age design elements like the meticulously maintained gardens or the immense fireplace in the lobby. The upscale vibe extends to the guest rooms, too, thanks to high-end amenities like mahogany furnishings, pillowtop mattresses, plush robes and in-room Nespresso machines.
On-site, you'll find five restaurants offering everything from local brews and après-ski cocktails at Perley's Pourhouse to AAA 4-Diamond award-winning cuisine at the resort's flagship Red Rooster restaurant. Guests can also partake in wine tastings and cooking classes at the Billings Farm Learning Kitchen on the resort.

The Woodstock Inn was beautiful. Our room was immaculate, bright and cheery. Everyone that we encountered like the valet staff, front desk personnel and housekeeping were warm and friendly. The only complaints that we had was with the waitstaff in both the Red Rooster for breakfast and Richardson’s Tavern for dinner. They would come to take your order and then almost forget about you. We waited a very long time in Richardson’s Tavern for our appetizers and then finally our meals came. We never got our appetizers. Why didn’t the waiter know about that? He finally came over to see how our meal was and we told him that we never received our appetizers. He just shook his head in disbelief... and went to talk with someone? We still wanted them and they finally came when we were almost done eating our dinner. Why didn’t our waiter check back in 10-15 minutes after we ordered to realize no appetizers came? To be fair, the waiter did take our drinks off of the bill that night... but most of us had just soda with the exception of my husband having 2 beer. Also for breakfast, both mornings... we had to flag a waiter down for another cup of coffee. These are expensive, nice restaurants... why such poor service? It appears that some of the same waitstaff do dinner as well as breakfast. The food was decent but not worth the price, esp. with such poor service.

I would love to go back to the Woodstock Inn and utilize the outdoor surroundings, more, as well as their athletic center but I would ( and my family agrees) go off premises for meals, especially dinner.

The staff at the Woodstock Inn was nothing short of exceptional service. The fireplace was burning at all hours offered a wonderful respite to enjoy a craft cocktail. A perfect weekend.

Dour young folks at the check-in desks were a downer. Screaming kids (this was a holiday weekend) reminded us that the best time to visit is during the week. Ridiculous "resort fee." But, basically, a nice place.

Check in took longer than usual due to a large event the night before, but they were great about it giving us complimentary drink vouchers while we had to wait..
