The hotel is historic with lots of architectural details and woodwork that has been preserved and very nice. The island itself is very nice with very nice beach or river views.

We paid for a 'resort' fee which was supposed to include in-room bottled water and coffee as well as towels for the pool/beach. The pool was closed because it was 40 degrees, no bottle water in the room and the coffeemaker was broken. I mentioned this to Mike when I checked out and I received a 'courtesy', we will look at replacing that. He barely made eye contact. It is not worth the money.

The property was beautiful, but there weren’t many dining options on site. Definitely better for a quiet, relaxing weekend.

Travelzoo said traditional king room with views of courtyard garden or front lawn and we had five windows in our tiny room and all overlooked the roof and air conditioning units and ducts. Very disappointing. Room did not even have a closet in it and we did not get housekeeping service for the time we were there. When I asked was housekeeping supposed to come they said yes but did not know why they did not. We were not in the room the whole day because it was so depressing so they could have cleaned the room.

Always enjoyed staying there, still enjoy the old world feel of the lobby areas.

They gave us the wrong room, changed rooms the next day, problem with the room heat and blowing directly on the bed - turned it off. Problem with our meal at The Wharf, had a charge on our bill from November and we were there in December. Did not care for the new room style.

Fabulous stay at the historic Jekyll Island Resort, a bucket list item for me! Beautifully decorated for the Christmas holidays. It's in the midst of the Holly Jolly Jekyll lights, a wonderland at night!

Everything was clean, room was spacious, very large bathroom. Loved the decor, period appropriate for a hotel built in the 1920's and with all the modern conveniences. Beautiful view of the pool and marsh. Staff was helpful and courteous.
