Why We Love This Hotel

  • Conveniently located between downtown and Old Montreal the hotel sports a contemporary and quirky design
  • Old Port, St. Catherine Street and Montreal Central Station are 5-10 minutes away on foot
  • All guests enjoy free Wi-Fi

Facing both Old Montreal and the city's convention center, the InterContinental Montreal is a great stopover for both business travellers and sightseers. Rooms are spacious, at about 420 square feet, and corner rooms are particularly large, with two walls of nearly floor-to-ceiling windows filled with skyline views.

Absinthe, the illicit beverage of choice for artists in belle epoque Paris, now flows freely (and legally) in the lobby bar Sarah B, named. On-site brasserie Osco! serves Provencal-style fare and features an extensive wine list.

Less than five blocks from the hotel, the straight streets of downtown start to warp and curve along the winding footpaths that make up Montreal's historic core. Here, stately stone structures and cobbled streets surround 18th- and 19th-century landmarks from the town's founding, including a Gothic chapel, a Renaissance Revival market pavilion, and remains of the ramparts that surrounded the original fortified city.

Great location for touring old Montreal. Great clean hotel. Some aspects of the room are getting a little tired and could use a refresh, but otherwise impeccably clean and comfortable.

Our waiter at breakfast was excellent, obviously trained by someone that knows the business. Great weekend, the hotel never disappoints.

We are a family of five, with 3 kids under 6yo. We booked the King Suite and enjoyed 180 degree views from the living room, added crib, and private king bedroom. The swim lane pool was deep for the kids but we had life jackets and they loved it. Room service was delicious. Breakfast was included, generous and the staff was excellent. Perfect location. We had a great time and have already recommended it to friends.

The fact that the hotel is linked to the underground city is a bit plus when travelling in winter and when arriving by train. Staff was exceptionally efficient and friendly. All meals were fabulous. We were accorded a generous late checkout before our afternoon train departure. All in all, it made for a wonderful Valentine celebration stay.

This hotel offers a great location. Within very close walking distance we were able to go out for dinner, go dancing and visit Montreal’s old Port the next morning. Each staff member was always friendly and welcoming. The room, although a little dated was clean and had everything we needed for an enjoyable nights stay. Breakfast was included and the eggs Benedict were super! We will be back !
