"We loved the location and the beach. Convenient to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and right on the beach! The restaurants were good too. Slow service at the Tiki Hut restaurant at lunch time - they definitely need an additional server on besides the bartender."

Overview

Located halfway between Miami and Fort Lauderdale on a private beach, Newport Beachside Hotel & Resort is known for its remarkable views of the Atlantic Ocean. Over the years, the property has checked in such notable guests as Sammy Davis Jr., Tina Turner and Jimi Hendrix. In October of 2015, the property went through a renovation project updating almost half of its guest rooms, the lobby, meeting rooms and guest room corridors to focus on providing the best guest experience. This family-friendly resort is perfect for a beachside getaway, and guests rave about the attentive and friendly staff.

Rooms here are spacious, and, with the exception of the executive suites, all are inclusive of a jetted tub. You can pick your choice of city views or upgrade to views of the white sands and warm turquoise waters of the Atlantic. The property is not shy of activities available for everyone in the family. Guests can enjoy volleyball courts, pools with live entertainment, daily games and an arcade. Other amenities include Tiki-hut cabanas, an outdoor heated pool, pool lounge, an outdoor Jacuzzi, water sports and even a pier for fishing. Indulge in all-you-can-eat fresh, whole Maine lobster during themed nights at the property’s on-site restaurant, Kitchen 305.

Grab the hotel's complimentary shuttle to one of the largest shopping centers in the country, Aventura Mall, filled with over 300 shops spread out across three floors. South Beach, the Art Deco District, Sun Life Stadium and Bal Harbour Shops are less than an hour away by car.

Enjoyed Most: Location
Other Comments: Nice hotel with a great location. More than adequate beach chairs and umbrellas. Rooms were more than adequate. The only minor complaint is check in and check out were too slow. No option that I was aware of to checkout online.

Enjoyed Most: We loved the location and the beach. Convenient to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and right on the beach! The restaurants were good too. Slow service at the Tiki Hut restaurant at lunch time - they definitely need an additional server on besides the bartender.
Other Comments: Only complaint was the $25/night parking. We weren't made aware of this, so it quickly adds up. There is no free parking nearby.

Enjoyed Most: Long lines to check in, slow elevators, non locking rusty patio door lock, too many different promotions offering better things than TravelZoo Dinner was great, room comfortable, and property was pretty right on the beach.
Other Comments: Hotel staff was inept and not helpful

Enjoyed Most: The rooms are nicely laid out, with a sitting area that closes off from the bed, and the beds are comfortable, though the pillows are too stiff. The bathrooms are adequate, the food itself in the restaurant was good, and the bartenders were nice.
Other Comments: The hotel was poorly managed, judging by the uniformly poor service. Rooms were not cleaned all day (in spite of several phone calls requesting service and leaving it empty for 8 or more hours). We waited half an hour for our meal to arrive, and then they forgot the onion soup (the restaurant was less then a third full). They charged $45 to sit on an uncomfortable beach chair under an awning, then another $10 or $15 if you wanted a cushion (even more for "non-guests"). And to add insult to injury, they automatically include an 18% tip on all food and beverage, even when service is poor, and then leave an area for a "tip" on the bill which can fool you if you don't read the bill carefully. Nice and dimed to death. The hallway carpeting is old, faded, and appears dirty, and the whole place could use a good face-lift.

Enjoyed Most: my suite was spacious, clean, and I had a great view of the ocean, pool, and pier.
Other Comments: The spa is lovely. The food at kitchen 305 is just delicious, and they give you large portions. The coconut grill and bar makes the best pina colada and serves delicious coconut shrimp.
Jean Dec 27, 2016 Ft Lauderdale, FL, United States
Enjoyed Most: The location is fabulous. Literally steps away from the ocean.
Other Comments: The restaurants are overpriced and Kitchen 305 is extremely noisy. We walked down the block for most of our meals after trying each of the 3 restaurants once each.

Enjoyed Most: Location! It's in a beautiful spot on Sunny Isles beach and with access to the pier and a nice pool and loungers, makes a great location.
Other Comments: The staff, while friendly, didn't go out of their way to assist. I had to use laundry, and asked at the front desk where this was located. Upon finding the laundry, there is no soap. So back up to reception to buy a box from them. Why didn't they offer? As well, someone was drilling into concrete above or around our room at 7am. While on vacation one does not expect to be awoken so early with general repairs by hotel staff. Shuttle service to the Aventura mall was amazing.

Enjoyed Most: Beautiful location, nice hotel.
Other Comments: Be where you are going to be asked to go to a timeshare type thing, and I also forget about the 305 restaurant they can't seat you when there are 15 available tables. The receptionist was a moron, and it really did affect if we would ever stay there again
