Why We Love It

  • This luxury property is one of the few Chicago hotels to earn a AAA 5-Diamond award
  • The rooms here are some of the largest in Chicago (with the largest TVs, too)
  • City views are great, but book a riverside room for a view you'll never forget
  • Great location -- just two blocks from the Mag Mile and across the river from the Loop

Overview

Towering 92 stories above Chicago’s ritzy River North neighborhood, the Trump International Hotel & Tower is nothing if not luxurious -- and boasts a long list of awards to prove it, including a Forbes 5-Star and AAA 5-Diamond ranking, as well as Conde Nast Gold List and Travel + Leisure World’s Best nods.

The luxury starts in the guest rooms, recently fully renovated and still among the most spacious in the city starting at over 600 square feet. (They boast some of the largest TVs as well, at 65 inches). All rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows, along with fully stocked kitchens with microwaves, dishwashers, cooktops and refrigerators.

The bathrooms feature limestone finishes, deep soaking tubs, rainfall showers and in-mirror TVs. Thoughtful perks include powered privacy drapes that close at the touch of a button, in-room Nespresso machines and free Wi-Fi throughout; families will love the turndown service that includes milk and cookies for the kids along with "beach bag" service during summer, including sunscreen, bottled water and beach toys.

Base level rooms offer a choice of king or two queen beds with city or river views, but if you really want to splurge, upgrade to a Grand Deluxe Suite. Located on the east side of the building, you'll get a view that looks out over the Wrigley Building, the Tribune Tower and straight down the Chicago River to Lake Michigan.

Throughout the hotel are other superlatives: the Michelin two-star restaurant Sixteen, where you can dine on a tasting menu or sip cocktails and enjoy lighter fare on the terrace; the luxe 23,000 square foot spa and 24-hour fitness center with signature gemstone massages; and the indoor heated pool, where you can float while watching the Navy Pier fireworks during summer. There's even chauffeured Cadillacs available for use, and a special wardrobe storage program, so you can leave your clothes at the hotel rather than pack luggage for each trip to Chicago.

From the press:
  • "One of the top luxury hotels in Chicago ... it's over-the-top luxurious, without being over-the-top" -- Oyster.com
  • "With some of the best views in Chicago, the [hotel] attracts a crowd of power brokers, women in fur coats, and anyone else who is prepared to pay for top-of-the-line luxury" -- Fodor's
