Just off the shoreline of picturesque Georgian Bay, the sprawling Cranberry Golf Resort sits between Lake Huron and the Blue Mountains in Collingwood. This mixed-accommodation resort has a myriad of places to stay, from the hotel rooms in the main inn building with free Wi-Fi and minifridges, to family suites with units housing one to two bedrooms, full kitchens, separate living areas and Jacuzzi tubs.
The recreation centre houses a place to rent movies, a games room and fitness classes like Zumba, yoga and Pilates. The hot tub adjacent to the indoor swimming pool is huge. You can find eight tennis courts, an outdoor pool, a spa and the 18-hole golf course while wandering the trails of the resort. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Downhill skiing at Blue Mountain Village is a 25-minute drive from the resort.
Collingwood Harbour is just across the street, while hiking trails can be hiked up right from the resort. There are four eateries at the resort, ranging from fine Italian dining at Memories, to traditional pub eats at Lounge 26, where live entertainment is a regular occurence.
Note: The resort is undergoing an expansion that will eventually unveil two new floors. Guest disruption will be minimal and is kept away from guest rooms.
