L'Estelle en Camargue is situated on a 3-hectare estate with Mediterranean gardens and a small private lagoon. Its location, amid the marshland of the Camargue, just five kilometres from Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer means it's well-placed for exploring the region's natural and cultural attractions. There are unspoilt sandy beaches nearby, and the Roman amphitheatre, museums and restaurants of Arles can be reached in less than 40 minutes by car. Aigues-Mortes, with its pretty square, pavement cafés and medieval city walls, is 26 kilometres from the hotel.
Leisure facilities at the hotel include an outdoor heated pool, a Jacuzzi, a tennis court and table tennis. The spa offers a range of beauty treatments and massages. Breakfast, which includes pastries and freshly baked bread from the bakery at Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, is served on the sunny terrace, and there are more than 30 different types of tea to choose from.
The restaurant uses fresh local ingredients to create a seasonal menu of traditional French cuisine and there's an impressive wine list. During the summer, lunch can be enjoyed on the terrace and there is a separate menu of lighter bites. There's a cosy lounge and bar area with comfortable seating and a wood burner.
Bedrooms all have private terraces or gardens and overlook the lake, the hotel gardens or the swimming pool. Some are interconnecting, making them good options for families. There are also spacious suites and mezzanine rooms that are set out over two floors.
