Why We Love It

  • Voted the No. 1 Resort for Families in America 2015 by TripAdvisor users
  • Perched on a lake among the Pocono Mountains
  • Complimentary resort amenities offer year-round outdoor adventure; golfing, zip-lining and spa treatments available for a nominal fee
  • Social activities, like trivia, movies and games, scheduled daily

Many of the Woodloch Resort’s visitors have been coming here for generations. For more than half a century, the family-owned retreat has beckoned guests to the banks of Lake Teedyuskung, nestled in the Pocono Mountains. With each passing generation, the resort expands around the lake, sweeping up more awards and recognition as it grows, including a 2014 selection by Fodor’s as one of the 10 Best All-Inclusive Resorts for Families in the U.S.

The rooms are spread across several lodges threaded through the woods. Some have rustic pine paneling and some have a private balcony with lake views; all have free Wi-Fi, a mini fridge and a day bed or sleeper sofa. Meals are served family-style in the convivial main dining room.

Guests also have access to the spa just down the road at sister property The Lodge at Woodloch. It has swept up awards from the likes of Travel + Leisure and Forbes, and in 2014, Conde Nast Traveler readers named it one of the Top 10 Destination Spas. Within its 40,000 square feet it offers treatments incorporating Delaware River stones, eucalyptus steam and caviar.

Out of doors, the offerings go on and on. On the lake, there’s sailing, waterskiing, fishing and ice-skating. On land there’s zip-lining, biking, golf and hayrides. The resort also arranges activities like family game nights and scavenger hunts, along with wall climbing, a petting zoo and archery.

From the press:
  • “A lot like staying at a close friend’s house. The difference? This friend has his own private lake with paddleboats and canoes, a slew of activities planned from early morning to late night … True, there are many all-inclusive resorts in the northeast, but Woodloch’s attention to detail sets it apart” -- New York Daily News
  • “Practically an amusement park and resort rolled into one” -- Fodor’s

Very family oriented and the staff was so pleasant and willing to assist. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great time

Too expensive without a travelzoo deal. Without a great discount, we likely wouldn't return.

As a Senior couple, visiting from Wednesday to Friday, (mid week) there is plenty to do and to enjoy the peace and serenity’ of the resort. However, it is definitely for families that come in for winter activities on Friday.

We had a great time. The only suggestion i have is having breakfast from 7-10am and dinner 5-8pm the 1 hour window is a bit narrow when multiple people are trying to get ready

Value for the price; Note---if you are looking for the spa experience, stay at the Lodge at Woodloch. We made the mistake of thinking it was all one resort...not true. The Pines and the Lodge are sister properties, but not reciprocal..
Other Comments
Lots to do for everyone at the Pines. The Pines resort is totally family oriented. Think old-time camp, with nice rooms and good food. The adult resort is the Lodge. They are two different properties, 3 miles apart. Patrons of the Pines must purchase a separate pass to be on the Lodge property. The day pass provides limited access to the pool areas. The demi-day pass opens access to classes and fitness programs at the Lodge. Check before booking.
