Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort
Why We Love This Hotel
- Very friendly service and plush, modern rooms that start at 495 square feet
- This hotel sits on a steep hillside overlooking Kamala Bay
- Though a beach is across the street, it's pretty rocky and most guests prefer lounging by the expansive infinity pool
- Take the kids to an on-site club just for them while you visit the upscale spa
Terreced up a hillside overlooking Kamala Bay, the swank Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort is spread over several buildings and steep paths connect the guest rooms to other on-site amenities. To make the trek easier, the hotel has an electric buggy system to shuttle guests around the grounds. Though it is a bit of a nuisance, the elevated vantage point does provide terrific sea views.
The open-concept rooms here are spacious, the most basic room starts at 495 square feet and comes with a balcony, a separate tub/shower and Wi-Fi.
One downside to this otherwise lovely resort is that the beach isn't quite usable. It is separated from the hotel by a small road and the beach area is very rocky and often filled with seaweed. Most guests prefer sunbathing by the gigantic infinity pool lined by loungers and cabanas facing the ocean.
The breakfast buffet is delightful and the Sunset Grill, as its name implies, provides stunning sunset views and is also highly reviewed for its seafood menu.
The town of Kamala is a 20-minute walk away. Here you can find shops, restaurants and banks. Back at the hotel, there is an on-site kids camp to entertain younger guests while parents hit the full-service spa.
