Rooms & Rates
The Stage Coach Lodge is a good old-fashioned roadside motel, though the owner's excellent taste, attention to detail, and warm, welcoming staff set it above the rest. This is a great option for road tripping families seeking comfortable beds and a place to cool down just off Highway One, on Monterey, California's south side.
Rooms are tastefully decorated in fine wood furnishings, western-style art and fun accent walls. They're clean and comfortable and many open up right onto the parking lot. Higher up rooms are quieter but there's no elevator. Free Wi-Fi is convenient for plotting routes and finding a place to eat, and free breakfast in the morning is basic but generous.
The small pool is quiet and surrounded by sun beds, and a putting green is a fun way for families to kick back. There's no real restaurant on-site but there's plenty to eat in the immediate area, plus there are BBQs and picnic tables on the nicely landscaped grounds.
