Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown at The Depot by Marriott
Why We Love This Hotel
- Big rooms with kitchenettes and Wi-Fi, and a solid location a block from the river attracts families and business folks
- The free breakfast is standard but generous with a particularly well-equipped waffle station
- There's a great water park adjacent to the hotel, as well as one of the country's best ice-skating rinks set in an historic train station
- The Depot is a cool area overlooking the river; it's essentially a living museum devoted to late 1800s rail travel
The Residence Inn Minneapolis Downtown at The Depot attracts budget-minded families and business travelers with huge rooms, a generous complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi and a great location in The Depot, a super neat section of downtown Minneapolis devoted to historic rail travel.
The Depot is essentially a living museum honouring the city's relationship with rail travel. It sits right on the riverfront, a 10-minute walk to the legendary Stone Arch Bridge and easy walking distance to lots of downtown restaurants and nightlife. One of the main attractions is a huge ice-skating rink set in an historic train station, and this hotel is right next door.
This isn't necessarily the swankiest hotel in downtown Minneapolis, but as far as bang for buck goes, it can't be beat. And those looking for kid-friendliness need really look no further.
