Overview

The lodge rooms and log cabins at Glacier House Resort offer rustic accommodations with simple furniture and typical amenities like fibre-optic Wi-Fi and TV. The view, however, is anything but ordinary. Snuggled between two mountain ranges, this hotel offers picture-perfect perspectives of the Selkirk and Monashee Mountains. Enjoy views of Mount Begbie at the Gallery Restaurant and Bar, or the light continental breakfast or dinner on the outdoor patio. The cozy bar offers an apres-ski atmosphere close to home base.

There is a plethora of nearby outdoor activities to try, from hiking, canoeing and mountain biking in the summer to snowmobiling, dogsledding or snowshoeing during the winter months. Relaxation can be found year-round at the on-site indoor pool, whirlpool and sauna.

Not sure how to answer this question. The setting is beautiful, quiet and serene. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Continental Breakfast was (as Continental Breakfasts tend to be) somewhat limited in choice, but quite ample and satisfying. Overall we were very saitsified.

Quiet surroundings and friendly staff.

Rooms a little outdated and not finished as much as they could be. Items such the bedroom doors are still coated with the primer like they come from the store and not actually painted. Simple things like this wouldn't cost a lot to fix, but would really finish the place nice.

I did not like that they lock the lobby at 10 pm and they are supposed to open it again at 7:30 am, however on the day we were leaving we had to exit out a side door as we couldn't get into the lobby, it was still locked at 8:00 am and this delayed our departure, even the elevator was turned off. We had no way to return our keys except to exit out the side and then go in through the front to return out keys. Since we had to get home as quickly as possible this was a huge issue because we arrived home late.

If you are there to snow machine and don't care about cleanliness and efficiency and professionalism of the facility and just want to drink, snow machine and hot tub...this place is for you. If you are looking for nature walk trails and stuff this is not for you. On the positive side, staff are friendly and helpful and will give you as much decaf coffee as you would need. Showers have pressure, excellent WiFi speed the fastest I have experienced at hotels and television channels are plenty. Hot Tub is ready whenever you are. This is very close to town so going to Save On Foods or access to other stuff and restaurants is 5 minutes away. Microwave that can be used in breakfast area to heat up ready made meals .
Other Comments
- Filthy room, sheets and pillows stunk, couldn't sleep in bed, used our own blanket. -Cob webs all over ceilings, you could see daylight through bottom of door, dilapidated door sweep required replacing. Poor maintenance and cleaning, which both need check lists and preventive maintenance schedules to improve quality. -Didn't care for continental breakfast...very poor among others I have experienced. Driving to location you pass by garbage dump, recycling and other junk yards. -On arrival huge power lines all over radiating you. Restaurant is questionable....since I was wondering if I would get ill after eating a supper dish. Privacy is not that great unless you are inside.
