"If you're interested in the Strip, be prepared for a long drive The Hilton Lake Las Vegas is a perfectly lovely hotel. It is perfect for the person who is staying and using the facilities of Lake Las Vegas. If most of your activities are on the Strip, be prepared for long drives. It is about 30 minutes each way. The room was fine. The breakfast was adequate (it was included with our deal from TravelZoo). Tip: Be aware - only one side of the bed had electrical plugs."

Overview

The Mediterranean-themed CAA 4-Diamond Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa has rooms "as posh as ever" (Fodor's), complete with luxurious beds and marble bathrooms. Fodor’s also lauds its pool complex, and the LA Times says its 30,000-square-foot spa is “first rate.”

The resort, approximately a 30-minute drive from the Strip, is also worth the trip out to Lake Las Vegas for a bevy of outdoor activities. It sits on the lake of the same name where guests can rent a boat, canoe or kayak. More intense water sports are available at nearby Lake Mead and the Colorado River.

The area is populated with golf courses for every skill level such as Golf Club SouthShore, Reflections Bay, Cascata, Boulder Creek and Tuscany.

Lake Las Vegas can be a better fit than hotels on the Strip for couples seeking a quiet getaway and families. There is a small town on the lake with boutiques, an ice cream shop and evening concerts in season.

Trip intended to explore the greater Las Vegas area, i.e. not The Strip. Great location for that although not much going on right around the hotel location. Car required.

Beautiful location and complex, sadly under-used. A peaceful gem in the desert, just 30 min from the Strip, with shuttles 3 times a day if desired, although driving was fairly easy. Excellent buffet breakfasts and also a full bar menu for dinner as an option. January is chilly in Vegas. Would love to return in warmer weather.

Beautiful resort far enough from the hustle/bustle of Las Vegas strip. Great place to relax.

The resort was wonderful. Except for the front desk staff, the employees were also wonderful. A lot of confusion at check in and very rude when asked questions

Front desk needs help. Difficulty getting checked in. Went back to get keys and clerk did not remember checking us in a couple hours earlier. People not especially helpful or nice

We had a nice time at the hotel. It was comfortable and I felt like a good value. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were clean. The bathroom was a very nice size. The hotel seemed very cold in the hallways, which I was not happy about, but all in all, it was a great experience.

Lovely grounds. Excellent staff very welcoming. Travelzoo deal was excellent as the breakfast was well done with hot dishes, vegan dishes, fresh berries and decadent pastry assortment. A bonus was the hotel provided vouchers for a cocktail each night of the stay in the lounge. The room was clean and the view was lovely. Ran out of time to try the spa and pool but would on my next visit as the pool looked inviting. Check in was easy and friendly. Lounge service was quick and efficient. Brunch staff kept coffee full and were stealth in the removal of plates and delivery of hot sauce. The area feels safe unlike downtown Las Vegas and quiet so you can rest! Unlike the casinos there is no loud gambling and no smoke smell. Would stay here again.
