"Everything was great on our trip. The one thing that was a little disappointing was the bottle of wine we received said $45 dollar value on voucher, but when I looked it up online, I could buy it from wine.com for $18.99."

Overview

Sneak away to the "hip, modern, and family friendly" Solage (Travel + Leisure) and experience all that northern Napa Valley has to offer. Calistoga -- the most rural area of the Napa Valley -- is a great choice for a more casual, laid-back Wine Country vibe. Explore Lincoln Avenue (the main street in town) or sample some of the best wines at more than 50 wineries in the area.

Guests can kick back in a Calistoga King studio or a Valley Two Queen studio with a semi-private outdoor patio and vaulted ceilings. Studios feature flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, showers lined with pebble stones, an in-room minibar and coffee service featuring locally-roasted beans. An added special touch is nightly turndown service with refreshing mint water and lavender chocolates.

Seeking pure relaxation? Don't miss the 20,000-square-foot Spa Solage. Take advantage of the "famously restorative" (Forbes) mud and mineral baths along with a variety of fitness classes (yoga, Pilates, TRX and more). All guests get complimentary cruiser bikes to ride throughout the property, plus it's a quick ride to multiple nearby wineries.

You don't have to go far to sample innovative cuisine and sip on delicious cocktails. Forbes Travel Guide says the "trendy and delicious" restaurant Solbar features "mouth-watering seasonal fare" with fresh local cuisine along with an extensive 22-page wine list.

My only complaint is that they have what I think are too many “service rules”. Examples- you can’t order off bar appetizer menu in restaurant. Waiter had to get approval from the chef. Early morning pool visits, area will only sell from their menu which are tea/smoothies. Had to walk to the bar for coffee and bring it back myself. It would be nice if they had offered to let me order it thru room service and have it delivered to the spa pools. It wasn’t just me, there was a steady line of people in spa robes Going to the restaurant to get coffee. When I ordered a bar drink in the am, it was a big hassle to find someone to do it and they acted annoyed. Ordered a glass of champagne in the am At the spa was told the glass I wanted wasn’t available til later? So I got what they had which was ok. I guess the frustration is that this is a five star hotel and I was being told “nope can’t do that” instead of service going the extra step and making it happen. This experience has never happened to me at other auberge properties and I’ve never had it happen at other high end hotels. On the other hand. Housekeeping was great and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed.

The resort was under construction. The pool was torn out. Nothing on their website mentioned this. I feel they should have waived their resort fee. The whole experience was quite disappointing.

Excellent resort - great service and beautiful property. Does not feel like they give you any cut-rate treatment just because its a Travelzoo discounted rate.
