The Kameha Grand Zürich "astonishes", according to The Daily Telegraph, while the London Evening Standard describes the service as "near-faultless".
Located in the Zürich-West district -- think über-cool nightlife, designer boutiques and warehouse-loft apartments -- and in a city where accommodation can be pricey, this boutique hotel, which opened in 2015, offers good value in art-filled surroundings.
The Glattpark tram stop is five minutes' walk from the hotel -- from there it's a 25-minute ride on the number 11 tram into central Zürich, where you can explore the Grossmünster Cathedral and the old town.
There are two restaurants in the hotel -- Restaurant YOU, which holds a coveted Michelin star for its French cuisine with Eastern influences, and L'Unico, which serves Italian fare. The Puregold Bar is open all day, with live music in the evening. You can reach the buzzy food and drink scene around Zürich Hardbrücke railway station within 20 minutes -- just take the number 12 tram from Glattpark to Glattbrugg and then jump on the S9 tram to Zürich Hardbrücke.
The hotel has "flamboyant" interiors and "sleekly minimalist" bathrooms, according to The Daily Telegraph. There's also a gym, a sauna and relaxation beds on the rooftop terrace, where you can take in "fantastic views of the Alps" (London Evening Standard). You can also book spa treatments (for an additional cost). Wi-Fi is free.
