The hotel is on the B5115 and just off the A470. The car park is undergoing refurbishment, but there is street side parking available at the front of the hotel (spaces are limited). The nearest train station is Llandudno, which is a 10-minute drive away.
Llandudno Bay Hotel is a Grade II-listed Victorian building located on the East Parade of Llandudno Promenade.
The seaside resort of Llandudno is described as "the Queen of the Welsh Resorts" by VisitWales. Its main attraction is the Great Orme, a prominent limestone headland and a Special Area of Conservation. The National Trust describes The Great Orme as a "wildlife paradise" and a "place where you can find flora and fauna found nowhere else on earth". There are old-fashioned trams and cable-car rides to take you to the summit, where there are great views of Snowdonia. The mile-long journey takes 10 minutes from Happy Valley to the summit of the Great Orme, 679 feet up.
The hotel has views across the bay of Llandudno and the mountain range to the rear. The Forster Restaurant serves locally sourced ingredients. For a pre-dinner drink, head to the champagne bar and take in the views of the bay.
The hotel, which underwent a refurbishment in 2015, is a great base from which to explore the local area. Venue Cymru, which showcases opera, dramas and West End musicals, is less than a 5-minute walk away. Snowdonia National Park and the historic town of Conwy, complete with its medieval castle (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), are less than a 15-minute drive away. On a clear night, many people have witnessed the stunning natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights from Llandudno.
From the press:
"Llandudno retains an undeniably dignified air, bolstered by its ever-improving selection of chic hotels and quality restaurants" -- Rough Guides
"Great Orme is also rich in archaeology and has the world's biggest prehistoric mine, dating back 4,000 years to the Bronze Age, while the first-ever book in Wales was printed in one of its caves" -- The Daily Telegraph

Initial impression but it didn’t deliver . Fur coat and no knickers as the saying goes. We were helped with our bags to the room( hardly something to sing about!)
Other Comments
The size of the bed, the room and the bathroom were very very small and not what we would consider as boutique. The communal areas were nice enough but the rooms were poor and noisy . We had no sleep due to being on the road side and the window insulation was insufficient to prevent the noise of the traffic in the morning but more importantly the sea and wind all night . We had to keep the windows tightly closed to help which meant we had no air in the room . Breakfast was appalling, undercooked, toast was like pappy bread ( hardly toasted) , beans cold, poor choice of cereal. We left ours and had to buy breakfast in Conwy after we left after just one night, disgusted at the cost of this mediocre hotel. Worthy of only 2stars

Parking is a real problem with this hotel and will be even worse in Spring/Summer. Hotel car park is being refurbished apparently.
