Overview

Walk under the canvas awning into this 1929 Norman-style chateau, one of the original CP Rail hotels boasting classic charm, modern amenities, and East Coast hospitality. Kejimkujik National Park is an hour’s drive from the Resort, and Fort Anne is 30 minutes away in historic Annapolis Royal.

Wander along the rocky beach on the Annapolis Basin, steps from the hotel, or partake in a wide variety of activities on the resort, like shuffleboard or giant chess in the lush gardens. Relax beside the large outdoor heated pool, or at the Eminence Inspired Spa. Guests can read or socialize in one of many comfortable sitting rooms with views of the Annapolis Basin.

Tee off at the 18-Hole Stanley Thompson Golf Course and enjoy a meal at the 19th Hole Clubhouse & Eatery after making par. Churchill’s Restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner serving East Coast favourites.

Room was as expected. Restaurant was average.

The heated outdoor pool that is heavily advertised was out of operation the entire weekend. The hotel refused to provide any credit despite access to pool being a paid part of the package. This is the hotel’s first season being open during the winter. It is clear the property is not prepared to operate during the winter. Common areas, including the restaurant, were cold.

The rooms and general old world ambiance.

The meal at the restaurant. A prix fixe Valentines day offering. Our choice (seafood layered dish of some sort) was lukewarm, lacking in taste, and the haddock (the main feature) was dry and mealy. Clearly not fresh. And if it was fresh, it would have had to have been seriously overcooked and let to sit for far too long. A major, major disappointment

It was lovely. They are undergoing some Reno’s. It is a big beautiful hotel. In it’s day it must have been gorgeous. Still has the big chandeliers and fancy mouldings. Just a little tired. But enjoyed the restaurant, the spa, the toom and the birds are gorgeous.
