"The spa was the most disappointing aspect. The two members of staff were poorly presented. The foreign member of staff had some difficulty with understanding and the treatment was pretty dreadful - she was a smoker and I had to restrict my breathing to when she wasn’t leaning over me. I had a ‘stress-buster’ and facial but was completely wound up when I left the treatment room - not good at all."

Overview

A member of the Classic British Hotels collection, Wyck Hill House Hotel & Spa is a 4-star property that has an AA-Rosette-awarded restaurant, a sumptuous spa and a heated cigar terrace. Behind the Cotswold stone exterior, its period features include an oak-panelled library, a grand staircase, open log fires and an impressive front hall.

The hotel is "ideally positioned", according to The AA, five minutes' drive from Stow-on-the-Wold. This ancient town has a historic market square and a Grade I-listed Norman-era church, and is known for its antique shops. It also holds a farmers' market on the second Thursday of each month. The market towns of Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Norton are less than 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, and Cheltenham Racecourse, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon are all within 50 minutes' drive.

The hotel's "excellent" (The Daily Telegraph) conservatory restaurant has views of the estate and holds an AA Rosette for its modern British food. There's also a cosy bar and several public lounge areas. The spa has six therapy rooms and an extensive treatment menu.

The hotel's 55 bedrooms are in the main house, the Orangery and the coach house, and are all generous in size.

Garden Rooms are in the modern extension of the manor house -- please note that not all of these rooms have garden views and they are spread across four floors.

Wi-Fi is free although the signal can be limited in some parts of the hotel.

Good value for money overall and the food was very good. I would return again as it was so conveniently placed in the Cotswolds but would not recommend the spa at all.

Very nice hotel. When we arrived they had a fire blazing which was very welcoming. Spa treatment wasn't up to much but still pleasant. Food was lovely and tasty, but unfortunately had to wait over 30 mins for first course. Not enough staff. Very pleasant stay but would love to have had fire blazing on the morning.
Other Comments
On the morning it would be lovely to have a welcoming fire in the grate especially on cold frosty mornings when you go for breakfast.

It was a nice old hotel, but tired and in need of new furniture. Lovely open fires and friendly staff. The bar was poorly staffed though. Food was delicious.

Had a great 1 night stay with my husband plus our friends also had a room. The travel zoo package included Dinner bed and breakfast, afternoon tea and scones, and a spa treatment. Hotel is very nice looking, very polite and friendly staff, room was basic but clean (Although tv was broken and door handle almost impossible to open), 3 course dinner was very tasty (recommend them cheeseboard for dessert), breakfast was great, tea and scones was hot and delicious, and my spa treatment with Leanne was probably one of the best massages I’ve ever had. Overall a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend.
