Overview

Buckatree Hall Hotel is believed to have derived its name from stag hunting days, when a buck was found in the fork of a tree.

The hotel is very close to The Wrekin, an iconic hill with an ancient hilltop fortress. The walk to the summit is approximately 3.5 miles and takes an hour and 30 minutes.

The National Trust's Attingham Park is approximately 15 minutes' drive away. You can explore the 18th-century mansion where fallow deer roam the park, go stargazing or peruse the vast collection of Regency furniture, silver, paintings, porcelain and textiles.

Experience life as it was over 100 years ago through the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of the recreated Victorian town at Blists Hill, an open-air museum 15 minutes' drive away.

Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986, is 15 minutes' drive away. Silent ironworks, foundries and mines that once breathed life into the valley have now been replaced with boutiques, gastro pubs and museums.

The hotel's Lakeside Restaurant has views of the gardens and the private lake. The kitchen uses seasonal ingredients from local Shropshire suppliers.

Facilities include a gym.

Great food, great location for forest walk and climbing The Wreakin
Other Comments
Room was often cold due to radiator not functioning properly. Limited toiletries, cleaning of our room was questionable, towels, were not changed when left for changing. Staff are very polite but some service was slow. The atmosphere in the bar area is soul less.
