Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate is 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Harrogate -- the "quintessential Victorian spa town", according to Lonely Planet.

This Grade II-listed 19th-century building sits on the site of Harrogate's first hotel, the Queen's Head Inn, which was built in the 1680s. The Turkish Baths & Health Spa is 15 minutes' walk away, and the Royal Hall, which hosts antique fairs, classical concerts, live comedy events and more, is just a little further. On the way, you'll pass the famous Bettys tea room.

Ripley and Knaresborough castles are just over 10 minutes away by car, and Harewood House takes around 15 minutes. Mother Shipton's Cave and the Petrifying Well -- one of England's oldest tourist attractions -- is 10 minutes' drive away. You can also trek with llamas at Nidderdale Llamas in the Yorkshire Dales, or visit Brimham Rocks, both about 30 minutes' drive away. Pateley Bridge, a small market town on banks of the River Nidd that's home to England's oldest sweet shop, is 30 minutes' drive.

The hotel brasserie serves British and international cuisine, and has a selection of Yorkshire cheeses. There is an on-site gym, and all guest rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Ridiculous super trendy but soulless check in. No reception desk just a square table with i pads on stands. Very poor experience. The weekend we were there the televisions were only receiving the odd station. Very annoying. Exceptional poor drinks. The secret to good beers and lagers is temperature and cleanliness. The coolers were far to cold which kills the sparkle in beer and the the drinks were flat and tasteless and damned expensive. Nowhere to put clothes that won't hang. No drawers, we had to keep most things in the suitcases and use them as storage. Make sure you get free parking. Warning! The FREE bottle of wine you get with some deals CAN'T be drunk with your meal?????

Had the evening meal that was included in the deal, although the food was ok the service was a bit chaotic even though they werent busy. not a very good wine lisk either, overly expensive for wine that you can get in any supermarket for a1/3 of the price.

Had to wait for the wine and for our meal. My partner is a vegetarian and there wasn't much choice

The room its self was nicely decorated, however the bathroom was dated and mould was present in a number of areas. The bathroom also showed wear and tear in a number of areas including the plug in the bath.

The Service and the food

Excellent service from the bar: Monika and the young barman (sorry didn't get his name) and the excellent Pablo and his team in the restaurants. The food was delicious so well done to the chef(s).

Very good service and always happy to help without anything becoming a problem.

My invoice was a bit misleading as it stated parking was free, but also said parking was £5per stay. However hotel was very helpful and wavered parking without it becoming a problem.

Quality of room, friendly staff and breakfast!!

The evening menu offering is small and restricted. Another couple were offered the Bar Menu which I would have chosen on reflection but was not made aware it was an option.
