- Borrow a bicycle and explore town on two wheels
Located in downtown Baton Rouge, the Hotel Indigo is a stylish alternative to the many other chain hotels in the area. Guests can explore nearby attractions like the Art & Science Museum, or the Old State Capitol, both less than a 5-minute walk away, or head out on bikes borrowed from the front desk. Guests can also visit Louisiana State University or Southern University, a 10- or 15-minute drive away, respectively.
Rooms are stylish and functional with plush bedding, full-wall murals in many rooms, flat-panel TVs, complimentary Wi-Fi and coffeemakers. Say hello to Huey, the hotel's mixed terrier, while you're there. The official title on his business card is "Hotel Ambassador" (and yes, he has a business card), but this four-legged concierge will be happy to greet your pets. The property is animal friendly with a $50 required deposit.
There is a bar and restaurant on site, but there's plenty of Southern-style drinking and dining to be found in the surrounding blocks. A casino with slots and table games is a quick 10-minute walk south.
