Location, location, location -- if you’re staying at the Hampton by Hilton London Gatwick, the chances are it’s because you’re arriving on a late flight, or leaving on an early one. Right next to the airport’s North Terminal, it’s a family-friendly option with comfy beds and informal dining.
Ok, so the airport is the most likely reason to choose this hotel, but if you find yourself with time to kill, there are worse places to be. Central London and seaside Brighton are both a 30-minute train journey from Gatwick’s train station, set in the South Terminal, less than 15 minutes’ walk away. Alternatively, check out a local National Trust property -- Wakehurst Place, with its gorgeous gardens, or the romantic ruins of Nymans, are both less than 25 minutes’ drive away -- or take the family to Go Ape, just outside nearby Crawley, to burn off their excess energy.
The hotel’s restaurant serves light bites and meals every evening (plus, there’s a children’s menu) -- breakfast, also served here, is included in the price. Other facilities include a 24-hour fitness centre (free for all guests) and snack area.
Guest Rooms are decorated in fairly typical airport hotel style, but are definitely on the spacious side and feature free WiFi and tea and coffee-making facilities. There’s also a selection of accessible rooms with features such as roll-in showers and easy-to-reach bathroom fixtures and light switches.
