Hotel Savoia & Jolanda
Why We Love This Hotel
- The hotel is five minutes' walk from St Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace
- The restaurant has an al fresco dining area with views of the Venetian Lagoon
- Rooms have high ceilings, wooden beams and crystal chandeliers, and are decorated in a traditional Venetian style
Hotel Savoia & Jolanda has an excellent location facing the Venetian Lagoon, with St Mark's Square and the Doge's Palace less than five minutes' walk away, and the Rialto Bridge a 15-minute stroll away. The San Zaccaria vaporetto (water bus) stop is just outside, so getting around by water is easy.
This is a busy part of Venice, but this palazzo is calming inside. There's air conditioning throughout, a small lift, high ceilings and historic features including wooden beamed ceilings and Murano lamps.
The Principessa restaurant -- which has an al fresco terrace -- serves a buffet breakfast and a dinner menu of Venetian classics and international dishes. Venice is a city with a plethora of restaurants, and there are many within walking distance of the hotel.
Elegant bedrooms are spread across two buildings -- one overlooking the lagoon, and one to the rear, near San Zaccaria Square. The spacious Superior Rooms are at the rear of the hotel and either overlook Venice's labyrinth of streets or have interior views. Wi-Fi is free.
