Built in 1885, Woodlands Park Hotel is surrounded by well-groomed lawns and 10 acres of parkland in the Surrey countryside. The Victorian manor house was built by the Bryant family, who owned the matchmaking firm Bryant and May, and often hosted the then Prince of Wales (later Edward VII).

The hotel is a 10-minute drive from Cobham and Leatherhead. Nearby attractions include Denbies Wine Estate, Hampton Court Palace -- "England's largest and grandest Tudor structure" (Lonely Planet) -- and Painshill, where you'll find 158 acres of landscaped gardens scattered with 18th-century follies and a crystal grotto.

Chessington World of Adventures Resort and Box Hill, a popular cycling and hiking trail, are 20 minutes' drive away.

The Oak Room, the hotel's main restaurant, has traditional oak-panelled walls and holds two AA Rosettes. There's also a bistro-style restaurant.

Other facilities at the hotel include a gym.

All guests get free Wi-Fi and bottled mineral water.

Nice hotel, lovely grounds and good staff. Everywhere was very clean and the room was very nicely furnished.
Other Comments
Did not like our room No.14. It was very very small and had 3 stairs inside the room which are dangerous when getting up in the dark. The shower was in the bath and the surround to the bath is wide, which makes getting into the shower extremely difficult. The room was very warm and the pillows need to be softer. There was air conditioner in the room, but we could not make it operate. We are elderly and this room was not suitable.
