Named England's Leading Resort at the 2016 World Travel Awards, The Belfry is set in over 500 acres of Warwickshire countryside. The 4-star resort is a world away from the hustle and bustle of Birmingham, yet is still within 20 minutes' drive of the city centre and the cathedral city of Lichfield.

The Belfry Spa has 12 treatment rooms, and offers a range of treatments. The Fire & Ice experience features a series of 12 bio-thermal rooms including a foot spa, feature showers, an aroma cave, a sauna, an igloo room, a crystal steam room and a tranquility room. There is also a large fitness centre and a spinning studio.

Golf fans will be in for a treat, as The Belfry has hosted the Ryder Cup more times than any other venue and is home to England's only PGA National Golf Academy. Guests can choose from three different courses (handicap restrictions apply for The Brabazon and PGA National courses), easily accessed by the large fleet of GPS-equipped electric buggies. Budding golfers can also try out the Ryder Legends Mini Golf course. Golf lessons and team golf days can be arranged on request.

There is a choice of dining options, from Sam's Club House for snacks, beers and sports on the big screen, to the elegant Ryder Grill, which offers fine-dining. The family-friendly Rocco's Pizza Pasta Restaurant serves up Italian classics in a more casual environment, while the stunning Brabazon Bar sits under a glass dome at the heart of the hotel -- the perfect spot for afternoon tea or an aperitif.

Signature Rooms are inspired by the diamond pattern of the Pringle golf jumper, and feature modern furnishings in neutral colours. All rooms have free Wi-Fi.

Enjoyed Most: Golf shop was good and breakfast was very good
Other Comments: The food on Sunday evening was not good. We had the beef which was very tough and we had to leave it. Also, the noise of the heating/water system woke us up at 6 am. When reported, no interest was shown other than to say other guests had reported the same problem.
