"Although many consider Frankfurt more or less a gateway to their European travels, the city's rich culture and history, dining and amusement options might just surprise you". So says Fodor's about a city that is perhaps best known for its financial sector and convention centres. The 3-star Manhattan Hotel offers visitors good value, comfort and a great location.
It's opposite the city's main train station and the nearest U-Bahn stop. Messe Convention Centre, the Jewish Museum and the 19th-century Liebieghaus are a 15-minute walk (or a short tram ride) away, and the historic Römerberg district should take 20 minutes on foot.
An extensive continental buffet breakfast is included in the price. There is also a 24-hour lobby bar and a computer terminal in the lobby that is free for guests to use.
The hotel was renovated in 2015, and bedrooms are simple but come with welcome fruit and fast, free Wi-Fi. There is a lift (although it doesn't go to the sixth floor) and floor fans in place of air conditioning. As a nod to the hotel's name, you'll find Big Apple cityscapes on the walls throughout. The Single Rooms are on the small side, but the Double and Triple Rooms have more space. Despite being close to the tram and train station, they're largely free from street noise. Ask for a room at the back of the building if you're concerned about this.
