Set in an opulent historic building, this grand 4-star hotel is close to many museums, galleries, shops, restaurants and sightseeing attractions in Warsaw, including the Palace of Science and Culture, the Old Town Market Square and Warsawa Centralna Station. It's also opposite the Centrum metro station, and near several other bus and metro stops for easy access to other points around the city.
The hotel was formerly owned and developed by Count Konstanty Przeździecki, a member of one of Poland's oldest aristocratic families. It was built in a Parisian Neoclassical style with Beaux Arts elements, and previously included a dance hall that featured many famous artists, writers and performers of the late 19th to the early 20th century. After World War II, it became a favourite meeting spot for aristocrats and diplomats, famously hosting General Charles de Gaulle, US President Dwight Eisenhower and Chinese Premier Chou En Lai.
Each of the refined, spacious, contemporary rooms and suites includes free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, a safe, and complimentary bottled water and use of the business centre’s printing, internet and computer facilities; some have balconies. Upgraded rooms offer city views and/or quieter locations, along with tea-/coffee-making equipment and a welcome drink on arrival. Suites add separate lounge areas, Nespresso machines, a fruit basket with wine, fresh flowers and a complimentary movie package. There's also a 2-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, and three rooms adapted for disabled guests.
The hotel's chic Strauss Restaurant serves Polish and European cuisine. There's also the Bojangles Bar, which plays classic swing and jazz music from the likes of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald, a lobby lounge and an elegant ballroom with a marble fireplace. Other amenities include a business centre, meeting rooms, a gym/fitness centre with a workout area, two saunas and a spa with massage services.
