Auberge Du Cheval Blanc
About the Hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- Location in a peaceful village near the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park
- A focus on gastronomy, with two restaurants and cooking classes
- Spa amenities in many rooms, such as Jacuzzis, saunas and Hamman-style tubs
There are countless reasons to visit Northern Alsace. One of them is the Regional Nature Park of the Northern Vosges, a UNESCO listed reserve with spectacular flora, fauna and castle remains. Another reason is the Auberge du Cheval Blanc. With a focus on spa facilities and gastronomy, the former 18th century coaching inn set in the peaceful village of Lembach has plenty of rustic-chic charm. There’s lots of walking among nature to do in the region, and the hot springs of Niederbronn-les-Bains are only a 22-minute drive from here.
One on-site restaurant offers casual dining in rustic surroundings, while the other is an upscale destination restaurant, with a choice of gourmet a la carte, set or tasting menus. Foodies might want to take a cooking class with the chef, or opt for the culinary package which combines dinner, breakfast and a cooking class with a night at the hotel.
The 21 rooms and suites are individually decorated with warm furnishings. The ‘Cheval Blanc’ suites come with minibars, internet access and satellite TV, while the cosy ‘Tradition’ suites add terraces or living rooms. Many suites have exposed wood beams and spa amenities, ranging from a 1- or 2-person Jacuzzi, to a Hamman, sauna and massage shower jet.
