Casa Dorado Los Cabos Resort & Spa is a spacious all-suite resort in a great location on Medano Beach -- one of the best for swimming in the area. The town’s eateries, shops at Puerto Paraiso mall and the yacht-filled marina are all within walking distance, as is the downtown Cabo San Lucas for local taquerias and boutiques.
At this upscale resort, spend your days by one of the two pools, where guests are pampered with pool service (they’ll even clean your sunglasses) and there’s a palm-roofed swim-up bar. Or relax on the hotel’s private beach club, with massages in one of the canopied cabanas (extra charge applies). Take note, the surrounding beach can be accessed by the public, and the nearby waterfront bars and clubs can get busy. Nearby, there are two 18-hole golf courses, and scuba diving and snorkeling opportunities.
The resort caters to families with their Kid's Place program, and there’s the 7,000-square-foot Saltwater Spa and gym (open 6am-10pm) for adult guests. Family-friendly Maydan offers casual dining in an open-air setting, while 12 Tribes specializes in Mexican dishes and local seafood. The in-house bar is good for sports fans, with a regulation-size pool table and live games shown on the TVs, and there are regular happy hours.
The suites range from studios to 3-bedroom penthouses, and all face the ocean and have terraces. There is a fully equipped kitchen in each, with a microwave, fridge, toaster and more. Most have walk-in showers, and some have huge Jacuzzi tubs in the bathrooms. It’s one of the few resorts in the area that welcomes pets.
