lx boutique hotel
Why We Love This Hotel
- The Daily Telegraph praises the "river views, artsy interiors and relaxed bar"
- Guests get complimentary custard tarts and Port wine on arrival
- The bars of Bairro Alto and the shops of Chiado are five minutes' walk away
- The hotel's Confraria LX was named in Lisbon’s Top 20 Restaurants by Time Out
With river views and easy city-centre access, the lx boutique hotel is in a prime location for a Lisbon break. It is in the hip Cais do Sodré quarter, close to the River Tagus, and five minutes' walk from the buzzy Bairro Alto and Chiado districts, which contain some of the best of Lisbon's restaurants, bars and clubs.
The renovated century-old hotel has an arty, modern feel, with each of the five floors devoted to a Lisbon theme: the Tejo (Tagus) floor, the Bairro Alto floor, 7 Colinas (7 Hills) floor, Pessoa floor (named after a national poet) and the Fado floor.
The hotel serves one of the top five breakfasts in Lisbon, according to Time Out magazine. It includes a selection of fresh breads and pastries from Tartine, a trendy bakery in the Chiado district.
There is a small bar at the hotel, and the Confraria LX restaurant serves sushi, salads and tapas from 12-12am until midnight from Sunday to Thursday, and until 2am Friday-Saturday. Complimentry sushi is served to hotel guests in the afternoon, and sometimes there are wine tastings, cheese tastings and live Fado sessions.
City View Rooms have panoramic views of Lisbon's colourful rooftops and River View Rooms are also available.
