Hotel Abruzzi is located directly opposite a building described by Lonely Planet as "the best preserved of Rome's ancient monuments, and one of the most influential buildings in the Western world", the Pantheon. Most rooms even look directly out on to the 2000-year-old temple.
Some of Rome's top sights are on the doorstep -- the hotel is around a 10-minute walk from the Trevi Fountain, five minutes from Piazza Navona and 15 minutes from the Spanish Steps -- so you can get to them early before the crowds. However, as the hotel is located on Piazza della Rotonda, one of the city's most popular squares, you should expect a little noise.
The hotel doesn't have an on-site restaurant, so breakfast is served in Scusate il Rotardo, a cafe located across the piazza. There's a hot and cold buffet, as well as a selection of cakes, pastries and fresh coffee. The hotel also provides takeaway breakfasts for people leaving early, and room service also comes from the restaurant.
Rooms are recently renovated, decorated in earth tones, with wooden floors and art depicting the Eternal City. There's free Wi-Fi throughout. Bathrooms are modern and fully tiled. Annexe Rooms are located around 20 metres from the main hotel in a quieter building, but don't have satellite TV and are a little smaller. You can upgrade to a Junior Suite, which is slightly larger.
