Wonderful place to be over Christmas! Very cozy and loved the decor of the room. Great location - off the strip a little, so it's more private, but still close to everything. View of the lake is only from the balcony outside.
Other Comments
There were a few issues: the fireplace wouldn't light and made a knocking noise sometimes. We had to call them to fix it a couple times. Also, one of the sinkswouldn't drain and the bubbles in the bathtub didn't turn on. Two times the reception personnel did not seem super friendly when I asked about a room with a view - almost like they were annoyed that I booked with Travelzoo and had gotten a discount. This was disappointing, as my in-laws live there and I have been looking for a hotel I'd come back to in the future. That being said, the bellhop was amazing and I loved the room and location.

Very spacious rooms with pleasant amenities such as fireplace, minibar area, heated bathroom floors and toilet seats. The room had a distinctive smell upon entering, kind of musty/old, but we adapted. And the hotel layout was a bit awkward- long and narrow hallways. I really appreciated the complimentary shuttle service and hot refreshment options (tea, cider, hot cocoa) in the lobby. Overall it was short but pleasant and comfortable stay.

Beautiful location right on the beach at South Lake Tahoe. Smallish rooms with no view unless you paid extra for an ocean view. Rooms are nice with heated toilet seat and bathroom floor. Toilet clogged when we got there, in room coffee maker broke, and bathroom door was so squeaky that it woke my husband up at night. Fortunately the staff attended to these needs very promptly.

For anyone staying at the Landing and booking through Travel Zoo, please be aware that the $30/day credit at the restaurant, Jimmy's, is only good on the day you check in and subsequent days, but not on the morning you check out. We were told by a staff member that we could use the credit on breakfast the morning before we check out, as long as we hadn't checked out. When we did check out, a different staff member said that was not true and that we had to use the credit before the day you checked out. So the breakfast we had that morning did not receive the credit. Very disappointed that the staff had different views on this and depending on who checked you out would determine if you received the credit,

We did not receive our $30/day restaurant credit promised by Travelzoo. We called and they agreed they did not credit us, and we were told they would credit our credit card on file with the $60…but they have not done it.
Other Comments
I would not recommend using Travelzoo to book this hotel as they did not honor the food credit perk.

There was no welcome drink & the snack basket only had 3 T of granola. The resort fee was $65 plus tax & included nothing. The location is nice but the hotel has new owners who are only trying to make a profit.
