I have stayed here many times over the years and each time have found the staff to be beyond expectation with Shanies Hunte at the front desk even beyond that and everyone else there, at the bar, at the door , in housekeeping to make every attempt to make your stay a delight. The addition of a restaurant and bar have made a lovely hotel even better. The rooms continue to be updated to block out noise, to make the rooms lovelier with fantastic bathrooms, beds, lighting and with electric blinds so you can enjoy the street and outdoor if and when you want.

Again, the hotel keeps getting better and better. I want to thank Shanies and also the rest of the front desk staff as they seem to delight in making their guests feel wanted, a small boutique feel in a big town.

The size of the room was terrible. It was soooo small not even a chair could fit in the room. The elevators were too small and did not work most of the time. The location is not the best for going to mid town. We are very seasoned travelers, and we have never stayed in such an uncomfortable room even is Asia or Latin America.

The Hotel Bellclaire once again provided a comfortable stay in a great neighborhood. Easy walk to Lincoln Center and convenient subway connection to Times Square. The hotel was well-located for our travel plans including viewing the Macy's Parade. Easygoing and helful staff provided great service as needed. Looking forward to returning.

Maria, Shanies & Michael at the front desk went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Every single employee at the hotel that we encountered in our 2-night Thanksgiving stay was friendly and helpful. It was my second stay at the hotel but the first time through Travelzoo. The room was tiny compared to my previous room and it faced an airshaft, but the deal was unbeatable. Happily, the room was immaculately clean - as was the bathroom - and was not claustrophobic, the bed & pillows comfortable, the heat whisper quiet, and the room pretty soundproof with the exception of a few people walking by the room. Having continental breakfast included from the patisserie downstairs was a plus and the neighborhood and all the people we met at Wednesday's wine hour were great. There were zero issues booking through Travelzoo - even during the busy holiday when the hotel was clearly full.

This is a great hotel--so convenient to everything, whether walking, by subway or bus. The rooms I had was small--cozy--but had everything I needed and was clean and comfortable. The coupons for breakfast at the adjacent French bakery were a wonderful bonus.

A portion of the lobby area was off limits due to a construction. The French bakery within the premises was a very nice surprise to have. Their macaroons and almond croissants are to die for. Wonderful location near Central Park; a safe clean locale with lots of restaurants and the Beacon Theater; a short walk to a subway line that goes right down Broadway. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the maid service was very good and unobtrusive. The room was pretty small but nice enough and the bed was very comfortable.

It was very difficult to get in touch with the hotel itself. The first several times I called the hotel number (not the booking service number) over several days, they did not answer and their message box was full. They finally answered after all those attempts and were very cordial and helpful.

This was our first visit to New York City and were so pleased with the Hotel Belleclaire. The location was excellent - walking distance to wonderful sites, attractions and restaurants, and the subway station also close by. It was also quieter in the evening allowing a peaceful sleep. Enjoyed the Monday and Wednesday complimentary wine hour. We also appreciated the daily morning coffee and pastries. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We would certainly recommend this historic hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Belleclaire. Checking in and out was easy and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. The room was slightly larger than other NYC hotels we’ve stayed in. Having the bakery in the lobby was great for getting morning coffee, tea, and a light breakfast. The biggest plus was the location. The neighborhood is quiet and the proximity to the 1 train (subway) made it convenient to go uptown or downtown. Will definitely look to stay there on future NYC trips.

Got a terrific rate through TravelZoo with a few added perks. Easy check-in with exceptional customer service from Shanies. Excellent location on Upper West Side, close to Central Park, museums, amazing restaurants, transit, entertainment, etc., plus a fabulous bakery/coffee shop downstairs - Mille-feuille! After forgetting a few things in my room upon checkout, it took a few calls to reach someone who could assist. I was eventually connected with David who went out of his way to assist. He located the items and took the time to ship them to me. The definition of customer service. Thank you, David!

I went to New York with a friend to celebrate my birthday. We were able to check in early on Saturday morning. The front desk staff person Francelli was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a king room which was bigger than we expected. So that was nice. The hotel provided complimentary pastries for breakfast . Perfect location to get around. We caught buses to Times Square, Chelsea Market, and some other places.
