Why We Love This Hotel

- The hotel has a traditional Italian restaurant & a pretty patio with fountains
- Bikes are free for guests to borrow, plus a putting green & billiards room on-site
Close to the heart of the city while still offering a bit of respite, Hotel Athenaeum offers a great base to explore "this masterpiece of a city" (Frommer's). Located just north of the Duomo, the hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the centre and bikes are free for guests to borrow.
Set in a former school building, all of the rooms in the hotel have a contemporary finish and are soundproofed. The Classic Double Rooms have a double bed, air conditioning, a minibar and an elegant marble bathroom. Wi-Fi is free throughout.
Breakfast is a plentiful affair, with a buffet of salami, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, fruit salad and more. Later on, traditional Tuscan specialties are served with a modern twist at Ristorante Riflessi, which uses local and seasonal products. Choose from dishes such as green lasagna with traditional meat sauce "au gratin" or thinly sliced peppered prosciutto with fried artichokes and stracchino cheese.
There is also a bar and a patio for some fresh air. Further on-site facilities include a putting green, a fitness room and a billiards room.
