Drive up to entrance check in was welcoming and convenient. There was a 15 minute line up at front desk comprising 2 groups ahead of me. Fairly efficient check in process. The standard room was reasonably sized. Very clean surroundings. Bed and linen were very comfortable. The decor is showing the hotel's vintage. Underground parking is provided, very convenient. The swimming pool is a reasonable size for lane swimming (about 10 m). Water was murky for the 3 days we used it. There are metal hand rails along each size of the pool at water level, which seems odd. Hot tub temperature is fine and jets are good strength. Also used the steam room in each of the men's and ladies change rooms. The pool area and change rooms are on separate levels and a bit of a maze to find. The TravelZoo deal is at a very attractive room rate. It is important to keep in mind that in downtown Vancouver hotels attract additional taxes and fees which can add up to 16% to the base room rate.

Our only issue was room was not ready until after 4 pm and the line to check in was very long. Then we did not receive our bags for awhile. We had dinner reservations and were late.

Just a 2 day getaway to Vancouver. Cesar, the desk clerk was so friendly and helpful and upgraded us to a lovely suite in the Residences which was roomy and had a well equipped kitchen. Restaurant was great for breakfast and we walked everywhere.

Room was nice but the 200 pound coffee table in the middle of the couch and close to bed is a hazard if you have to get up at night to use the washroom.

Its a beautiful place and was given a beautiful corner room but very noisy with the ambulance sirens going on all night. Elevator was broken from the parkade. Had to carry suitcases up 3 floors. Otherwise lovely place. Would try it again and ask for the quieter site at the back.

Sutton place is beautiful. Rooms were nice but it seemed that the thermostat was broken and room was consistently at 25 degrees. They brought a fan. The pool was busy and quite murky. Overall a nice hotel with a great location

I did have to pay an additional fee to change room types from king to 2 queen. I called hotel direct, and travelzoo prior to visiting and was told only could add as a suggestion. I was able to change upon arrival but had to pay extra. But if I had booked at time of reservation the price would have been the same.
