Nice big rooms and a nice selection at breakfast.

Reception staff need to talk to guests, you come and go and no speaks to you. Charging for car parking i think was a bit much, they have a massive car park not a small one.

I chose this hotel for my partners birthday. I had been in the past in1991. If I had known it was undergoing a major refurbishment I would have booked elsewhere. The location is tremendous and so was the hotel .

On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by an array of hgv vehicles everywhere. The hotel had rented out their car park for an exhibition, so subsequently there were no parking spaces at the hotel. When trying to book in, I can only describe as utter chaos, the hotel had also failed to mention that they was going through an exstensive refurb. This led to most of the hotel being closed off, this left a reception desk at the back entrance, which clearly could not cope with the influx of guests that were all arriving. Every other guest seemed to be complaining. The room it’s self was very spacious and seemed for the most part very clean. They must have very recently replaced the toilet seat, unfortunately they chose a very cheap plastic one, which in my opinion is not keeping with there usual opulent style. Breakfast the first morning was first rate, could not fault it. The second morning however, they said they had run out of butter, the hot food was not as good as the first morning.only gave us half a mug of latte as they said that they had run out of glasses.

Its central position in Harrogate.

Since our first visit many years ago, the hotel is run down, dismal, with decoration within the bedroom(2nd floor) leaving much to be desired. The bathroom was dangerous with fixtures loose ,difficult taps. The overnight, room only basis suited our requirements, but we were disappointed in the hotels state. It does look that up- dating might be in progress from the evidence of exterior scaffolding. Food service in the bar was tardy, although the food quality when it came was Fairly good.It has seen better times !

Location and the quality of the evening meal.

We would love to visit again and explore Harrogate. Unfortunately on this occasion it was booked because of a family funeral and it was a matter of booking somewhere near to the crematorium as we live in staffordshire. However, the hotel was fantastic. Thank you.

The food which was excellent and also the service.

My only two very minor gripes were that plates at breakfast were invariably cold if taken from the top of the stack so that items such as the bacon were soon cold. Secondly the bedroom lighting was exceptionally dim such that it was a strain to do any reading in the evening. Other than that we had a very enjoyable stay at The Majestic.

we were booked into a standard room and were disappointed with the room. we went back to the reception to let them know what we were not pleased with and they upgraded us to a recently refurbished room. We were delighted with the way the hotel staff dealt with our concern.
