According to Lonely Planet, statistics show that Munich is enticing more visitors than ever. With a walkable centre full of beer halls and Mediterranean-style street cafés, Germany's second city has created a buzz all its own.
Close to the Theriesienwiese, home of the Oktoberfest, the Hotel Ambiance Rivoli is in the Sendling district. It's a 3-minute walk from the Harras S and U-Bahn Station, from where it's only five stops to the Marienplatz, the city's main square since 1158. No matter the time of year, the Marienplatz is a lively place, full of people. As Rough Guides states, "When Munich has something to celebrate -- from Christmas markets to Christopher Street Day -- the focus of the festivities is Marienplatz." Nearby attractions also include the Hofbrauhaus, the English Garden and the museum district. Tierpark Hellabrunn (Hellabrunn Zoo) is about 5km away from the hotel.
Hotel Ambiance Rivoli has six floors, with all rooms uniquely decorated in art deco style. All rooms have wooden floors, marble and granite bathrooms, soundproofed windows and mini bars. Wi-Fi is available.
Open daily, Siam Restaurant serves Asian cuisine, including traditional and modern Thai fare as well as sushi. Be sure to try one of the bar's specialities: a collection of Zodiac cocktails. A large breakfast buffet is also served each morning.
