Overview

Built in the 1928, the Lord Baltimore Hotel was hailed as the largest hotel ever built in the state of Maryland. Today, the building is a historic landmark. Its multimillion dollar renovation, unveiled in 2014, preserved its old world charm and art deco accents but updated the interiors with luxurious decor inspired by contemporary private clubs.

Hosting the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. in its heyday to today’s luminaries like artist Jeff Koons and singer Beyonce, the Lord Baltimore Hotel is a prominent outpost with timeless appeal. The main dining room is a modern French bistro housed in the elegant Versailles Room, and the coffeehouse, LB bakery, serves up freshly baked goods daily. Just three blocks from Harborplace, the hotel is centrally located in downtown Baltimore, making it easy to reach the city’s famous attractions including the National Aquarium, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens.

Request a room away from the main street. Street noise was a bit loud.

Pipes banging through the night meant that whenever I fell asleep for a few minutes, the pipes woke me up. I was exhausted in the morning and had trouble staying awake the next day. Five people behind the counter when I checked in ignored the line forming for the one person who was helping. Woman who answered the phone when I called to say I couldn't access wifi told me to put 7 before room number. Later I learned that wifi wasn't working at all after I had been wasting time because I kept trying something different after message I was getting said that I was using invalid access code.

It’s s very old school hotel and is pretty.

It was a special occasion and I spoke with hotel 1 1/2 months ago about it because it was New Year’s Eve. Was told that room request/everything was handled. Got there and nothing was handled and front desk woman looked at me like she was clueless and could have cared less. I would have gone to another hotel if it wasn’t NYE. As far as a multimillion dollar renovation, have no idea what they did. I have been staying at this hotel for about 30 yrs and it looked the same as it always has, the room bathroom maybe worse.
