"Staff were great with check-in and check-out: fast, helpful, accommodatng. Location can't be beat, especially for those arriving by bus or train. Close to all amenities, but on a quiet street. Clean and comfortable at a great price."
It’s a 30-40 minute drive from JFK Airport, depending on the traffic, and cab fare is approximately $50, not including tip or tolls. Alternatively, take the AirTrain from the airport to Jamaica Station and switch to the E train subway into Manhattan. The ride will take a little over an hour, but only costs $7.50. The nearest subway station (23rd Street at Eighth Avenue) is about two blocks away.
While tourists may not rank New York's Garment District as highly as, say, Times Square, it's a neighborhood vital to stylish locals. Its huge warehouses and office blocks are filled with some the country's most popular fashion companies and clothing manufacturers. On the fringe of the neighborhood sits the Hilton New York Fashion District, injected with a stitch or two more style than a typical Hilton as a nod to the area's focus on surface.
Rooms aren't too zany and trend-obsessed, but do have subtle nods to tailoring in their chalky pinstripe carpets and polka-dot wallpaper. Beds are swaddled in Frette linens, and a Keurig coffeemaker can quickly fill the room with the aroma of a fresh brew.
Off the lobby, Rare Bar & Grill is a popular burger spot, just as well-known for its counterpart on top of the hotel, the Rare View rooftop bar. Up beneath its retractable roof, the bar pours cocktails to an after-work crowd that gawks at the Empire State Building, about eight blocks north of the hotel.
Guests are also less than 10 minutes away from the shops of Herald Square and flagship Macy's. The Fashion Institute of Technology is basically next door, and often holds exhibitions about the history of fashion. Head three long-ish blocks east to reach Madison Square Park, which is a bit of a gourmand destination with the original Shake Shack and North America's first Eataly Italian food mega-store.

The location is fantastic, the rooms are quiet at night, and the staff is very friendly. Great little rooftop bar, too!

I would only add that when I called a day later to ask about a charge, the person on the phone was very condescneding. I have every right to inquire about charges, and should not be treated like a second class citizen!

Would have liked an ice bucket and ice in the room. That’s about it. We loved our stay!

Room service has to be called every time you need ice. Usually takes two phone calls. No ice on individual floors.

Ease to get to the subway and not overly busy.

Only King beds face the front. Two doubles all face the back looking at the backs of other buildings. We weren't in our rooms all that much but a better view would have been welcomed.

The location is perfect! Walkable to many sights, stores and restaurants. Lyft rides throughout the city are resonably priced from here!

When we booked our room we requested a refrigerator and also requested a room away from the elevator. We were put in a room right next to the elevator with no fridge. We made this request as I am an extremely light sleeper and wake up to everything. We had been told the hotel was booked so we didn’t ask for a new room. I wish they had honored both of our requests.

The hotel is centrally located so it was easy to go uptown or downtown. The street seemed very safe and there were plenty of things within walking distance.

The noise was unbelievable, and there was no fan in the room to help counter that. The room was moderately clea, and quite shabby.
