Opened in October, Waikiki’s newest oceanfront resort is nestled on property held by the Queen Lili’uokalani Trust. 'Alohilani Resort, meaning “heavenly brightness,” is an homage to the queen, the islands’ last reigning monarch. Across the street from the beach, the luxurious resort is walking distance to the many shops and restaurants of Waikiki.

Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the neutral-toned guest rooms with natural light and breathtaking views of the ocean, Diamond Head and city skyline. All rooms have free Wi-Fi, private lanais and the choice of one king or two queen beds. Upgrades suites feature wet bars, soaking tubs and rain head showers, sleeper sofas and sound systems.

Animal lovers of all ages will delight at the sight of more than 1,000 indigenous aquatic creatures inhabiting the resort's new three-story oceanarium. The property’s $115 million redevelopment also added a rooftop, saltwater infinity pool. This calming space is outfitted with teak furniture, tiered daybeds, cabanas, a hot tub and fire pits. Swell Bar, the poolside bar, offers an all-day menu including poke and kalua pork. Don't miss their signature cocktail, Ka Huna Kai, a frozen Mai Tai named for a song written by Queen Lili'uokalani.

While parents relax, children five to 12 years old can learn about Hawaiian culture, history, environment and traditions through indoor and outdoor activities at The Monkey Pod Kid’s Club. A separate children's pool in front of Monkey Pod is a convenient spot for families to enjoy some water play.

At Morimoto Asia Waikiki, Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto's menu features Pan-Asian flavors in the indoor-outdoor, oceanside dining room with a glass-enclosed exhibition kitchen. Momosan Waikiki specializes in ramen, offering a casual dining experience paired with beer and sake. Each morning a breakfast buffet is presented in Lychee, and O Bar, the lobby bar, serves ocean-inspired craft cocktails with small plates.

The 24-hour fitness center includes daily fitness classes as well as On Demand virtual classes offered around the clock. Guests have complimentary access to two full-size tennis courts, training turf and equipment overlooking the 280,000-gallon saltwater aquarium. After a tough workout, guests can unwind with spa treatments in private cabanas or in-room massages.
