"This is the 3rd time we've stayed. Nice small independent hotel on the ocean. Good staff and nice atmosphere. I just wish the windows would open so I could sleep to the sound of the ocean."

Overview

The Atlantic Ocean laps against the shores outside the Seaside Amelia Inn, where guests can take in the saltwater breeze and pink tinged sunsets from the outdoor pool or the patio of the on-site bar and grill.

The small inn has a homey feel with individually designed, contemporary guest rooms. Parlor rooms are definitely on the snug side, but with direct beach access and an outdoor pool, you won't be spending much time in the room. All rooms have a minifridge, ideal for storing snacks and drinks, plus complimentary Wi-Fi access. Some face the pool while others provide views of the ocean, and many have private balconies.

Minutes away is the Historic Downtown area of Fernandina. Once a stomping ground for pirates, the Victorian seaport village is now home to boutique shopping and seafood restaurants. A host of more adventurous activities are also nearby, such as sailing, fishing, horseback riding and golfing.

The location right on the beach is the best. The room was a little dated but we didn't spend much time in it so it was not a big issue.

The hotel is located in a GREAT location. You're right on the beach, a few steps to some tasty restaurants, a short drive to some exciting locations.

Great oceanside location. Staff was very pleasant & accommodating. Overall a very good experience , would return. Great value in off season. Short drivable distance to historic district & other points of interest. Highly recommend this property!

Wonderful hotel for a quick getaway. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the location is superb! Yes, the rooms are small, however they have mini fridges, a microwave and a small sink in the room. Also there are a number of "hideaway" places throughout the public area to enjoy more space. We had a wine and cheese night for the 2 of us in the rooftop seating area and were never disturbed. Excellent hotel for the price.

Staff great! Great warm breakfast. Right on the beach. Wish the room, especially shower, was a little bigger but overall an excellent experience.

Free breakfast wasn't what was advertised. Supposedly the cook didn't show up for work.

Location is what you pay for here. Short walk to entertainment and restaurants and beach. Rooms are so small that when my sleeping husband turned over in bed he hit his shin on the opened bathroom door! Nice bruise!

The front desk staff, especially Kim, was very helpful. She gave us a refund for the breakfast and when a luggage cart couldn’t be found (they only have 2) she let us use a laundry cart. The roof top area is a nice area to get away and watch the ocean. When I stayed here previously I was in a pool view room and it was much more comfortable and quiet.
Other Comments
We booked the sunset view room (we were in room 303). The room was not as pictured in their website and to get to the right side of the bed you had to crawl in from the foot of the bed because it was against the air conditioner. These rooms are on the street side and traffic noise was quite loud. The 1st day we were there the cook didn’t show up so the breakfast was not as advertised (only bacon and pancakes were being cooked). When we were ready to check out there were no luggage carts and the staff tried but couldn’t locate them for at least 1/2 hour.
