Facility is great. Rooms need to more reflect ’resort’ status: no glassware, no drinking glasses, no wine glasses, no opener. All paper, I.e. use for coffee. Resorts are all about treatment and how you feel being there.

There was a lot of construction, itself unbothersome. However, the breakfast buffet and Kukui's being in temporary spaces was disappointing. The set-up for each was very plain, barebones and visually unpleasant. All of the staff were wonderful. Self-parking was pretty easy. The gift shop, Lamont's was fabulous, but fridges need updating. My husband forgot his comb and asked room service for a cheap one, which they didn't carry for guests. The kiddie pool and big pools were not too crowded, but could use resurfacing. The gardens were absolutely beautiful and it was stroller/wheelchair accessible.

Great location, beautiful views, pool and gardens.. The food served at the sushi restaurant was top notch. The servers and all staff were great. Housekeeping tidies room every other day, not daily. Total dissatisfyer for the price of the room.

The Royal Sonesta Resort was a wonderful place to stay, especially since I was by myself. The Island of Kauai is beautiful and easy to navigate if you choose to rent a car. I was very impressed with the staff. They were very friendly and very helpful. I absolutely loved my room, and in general, loved everything about the resort.

Hotel very tired and dated. Our floor had an awful smell when you got off of the elevator. JThe food at restaurant was not good and for the money the Travelzoo deal for the stay was not worth it. Disappointed that I had booked here as a result.

The Resort itself is great, we liked it. However the reason I wouldn’t go back is there is NO microwave in the room or glass & or plastic glasses we didn’t enjoy drinking wine out of a coffee cup. . When we checked in they didn’t tell us room service was every other day which was fine but didn’t leave enough coffee for the second morning. Trivial I know but when you can’t reheat your beverage & or they want you to spend at the resort instead of heating up a ham & cheese croissant. Well I don’t like corporate. We didn’t take it out on the staff though & tipped well.
