Mother/Daughter getaway. Had a great stay at the Inn. The Inn is beautiful. Great location a few minutes drive from Sidney Room very comfortable. Service was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious and evening drinks and snacks in the garden were the perfect end to a day of sightseeing in the area. Highly recommend!

We were looking for a getaway for a few days. It was perfect, nestled in a grove of trees right on the water. Michael, Dominic, and David could not have done anything else to make it a perfect couple of days to unwind. Breakfast was delicious and even did gluten-free perfectly. Thank you!

My husband and I arrived at this B & B (really an English Manor) and we instantly noted how beautiful it was. The gardens on the property are wonderful and the harbour view is magnificent. We were greeted by Dominic, who is lovely and one of 3 owners of this fantastic property. He gave us a tour and we were in awe at how beautifully and painstakingly restored the property was. We stayed in the W.C. Nichol suite which has a forest theme and original forest murals in the paneling. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable with nice chairs and table for two. It had all the amenities you could want. The made to order breakfasts were delicious and the service impeccable in the gorgeous dining room facing the garden. We met Michael on the second day and he was just as friendly and funny as Dominic and willing to accommodate special needs. We really felt pampered and would highly recommend The Latch Inn.

Everything about and around this place is great. The staff was polite, kind, friendly and even went out of his way to call us to let us know the rooms was available for early checking in. My cousin and I regretted starting for only one night I would definitely go back with my husband and for much longer. Thanks to the lovely staff we definitely appreciated your great service we felt special.

If you are tired of sterile “ticky-tacky “hotel rooms that all look the same… this boutique inn is perfection! With views of the ocean, the garden and a major marina, it is a grand respite from almost post-COVID life. The room are grand, character-full and history -full delights. The hosts are kind, thoughtful, quick to offer any assistance, and really a cut above the usual . The breakfast presentation is exquisite , the food just grand.
I wished I had booked for a longer stay.

This is an amazing B&B. It is a historically significant building and the trio of fine gentleman who are running it or doing an outstanding job. Coffee service in the morning, cookies magically appearing in the evening, soft music playing, spotlessly clean, historical artefacts all around, an amazing ambience.
The only drawback would be the noise and sound. Being an older building the walls are somewhat thin and you could hear conversations in a joining rooms. As we were out of the room most of the time this was not a big deal for us. Also note if you were interested in doing things in Victoria it is a 30 minute drive. However there is so much to do in the area, there is no need to go to Victoria and you are very close to the ferry terminal.

We overnighted at the Latch when visiting the Christmas Lights at Butchart. This was our second stay. The Inn is lovely, a true heritage home. The ambience is cosy elegance. The breakfasts and little touches (i.e. fresh chocolate chip cookies at 7pm!) are exceptional. Will be back and would recommend highly!

The latch inn is an exceptional property from the time of checkin to checkout. We arrived and were greeted by one of the owners and checkin was a breeze he showed us to our room and explained the history of the building. He also made some very good recommendations of what to do,see,and where to eat in the town of Sidney. The next morning we were served breakfast which was exceptional also. The inn has 6 rooms that are spacious and very comfortable we will be definitely recommending the inn to our friends and returning ourselves.

We just needed a place for one night. It was excellent. The breakfast was deluxe and the service was very personal. We actually had not eaten when we arrived at 6, it was raining but they have a small menu so we just stayed there for a light dinner. That worked so well.

We arrived around 6 pm and it was already dark. We put the address inGPS but still had a hard time. The name LatchKey is very small. I believe the larger name was Country Inn. I think that should be included with your information.

We had a lovely stay at The Latch Inn. It is a historic building that has wonderful history and beautiful gardens. There are six rooms available for booking. They have been renovated but keep the integrity of the buildings history. Your booking also includes parking, wifi, cookies in the evening, coffee or tea and a gourmet breakfast with juice and muffins! The rooms are clean and the Inn is following all covid protocols. The Dining room is welcoming and the living room is delightful. They have a outdoor patio which would be wonderful area to sit if weather is favourable. This would be a wonderful spot for a wedding or group gathering of 12 people. Staff are friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay and you will too.

As a previous b&b owner, I was delighted to stay at the Latch Inn where the owners understand and provide service along with ambiance. This was the best b&b experience which my husband and I have enjoyed in our 65+ years. Simply the best mattress in the province can be found in the Library Suite.

My husband and I loved the quaint rustic/Victorian Inn. It was so beautiful and romantic. The beds were comfortable, breakfast was delicious and the service was amazing. I loved that they gave us muffins in a bag to take as an option for lunch and the server was so personable. Would definitely come again.

We had a fabulous stay at the Latch over the weekend. The attention to detail is everywhere in this beautiful heritage home from the welcoming tea and biscuits to the most comfortable bed ive ever slept in. Our host Michael provided a warm and friendly environment, as well as a delicious full breakfast in the morning. We enjoyed views of the marina from the room as well as the lovely garden area. Everything was outstanding and we will be back!

What a fantastic find. This inn is now our favorite when going to the Victoria area. Elegant, warm, very quiet, with character and comfort in mind. Very clean. The owners were there to pamper us and served a delicious and well presented breakfast. We love staying in buildings with history and this one is located in an beautiful area with lots of walking, biking options, minutes from downtown Sidney. We are already booking out next visit.

i rarely comment on accommodations, but the stay at the Latch Inn was exceptional. It is a beautiful, small Inn, with magnificent bedrooms and elegant common areas, and a great breakfast, and thoughtful, attentive service.. But most of all, the attention to every service detail was beyond excellent. Two examples. One evening of our stay was when the clocks were to be turned back. There was a note at our door, artfully designed, to remind us. One evening we were out for dinner. Even though home-baked cookies are available in the lounge each evening, a plate with cookies had been set out for us on a table by our bedroom. We will return for sure.

We had a three night getaway staying at the Latch Inn. We had a very spacious room with both water and garden views. We enjoyed sitting out in the garden overlooking the marina. The breakfasts were tasty and beautifully presented. You won't need lunch for sure.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at The Latch; the hosts were friendly and available for questions or the little extras, such as milk for our afternoon tea. They gave us good recommendations for a restaurant, which we thoroughly enjoyed and it helped that it was walking distance. The room had so much character, the bed was very comfortable, and the history was so interesting.

It is a little bit off the beaten path but well worth the detour.The staff are exceptional catering to your every need.They provide a great breakfast.There is a restaurant close by so you can stay close by if you choose.This inn is very close to th BC Ferry terminal and still close to some walking paths

This is a beautiful property with such charm. Each room is unique. We stayed in the Nichol room with views of the marina from both windows. The Inn was clean, neat and level of detail was second to none.
Inn Keeper Dom was a fabulous host! We enjoyed our chats with him over the course of our stay.
The food was DELICIOUS, breakfast was beyond amazing.
We would highly recommend the Latch Inn and would like to enjoy it again.

I had been to the Latch before and was not impressed. The bones were there, but the presentation was shabby. When I learned it had been refurbished under new owners and management, I decided to give it another try and see how things have changed. I was duly impressed! It has been tastefully and very comfortably refurbished without being overly modernised. It retains the character and ambience of a century old residence but with updated decor and super comfortable beds. Dominic, Michael, and David are the new hosts, very charming and hospitable. We had a wonderful stay!

You can tell the owners of the Latch Inn really care about the space and service. Every little detail was thought out to perfection, from fresh muffins everyday, to the softest blankets in the lounge, to the decor choices throughout the hotel, it made the stay a relaxing experience. Sidney is a nice little quiet town, lots of walking paths along the ocean and town, lots of great eateries. The Latch Inn is run by great guys and was a wonderful place to stay, historic and in a nice location….breakfast was fantastic and the homemade muffins could the one reason to stay there again. It is next door to a working marina so expect a bit of daytime noise but nothing to dissuade us from staying there again, in fact planning to be there at Christmas when they decorate the grounds.

The hosts at the Latch are incredible. There is chocolate on the pillow when you arrive and a cold beverage in the fridge. In the evening, there is a place of delicious homemade chocolate cookies waiting at the entrance when you come in. Breakfast is also wonderful. The rooms are all lovely and have kept their historical touches.

It is a very quiet location to get the best sleep. There are walking trails to the beach and a restaurant called the Glass House next door at the marina. We will return!

If you want to escape after a busy day of sightseeing, The Latch Inn is a little piece of heaven!
Tucked away from hustle and bustle, it’s like stepping back in time. Quiet, tastefully decorated rooms await you and the owners are so friendly and attentive! The breakfast was superb, probably one of the best we’ve ever had. Fresh muffins and fruit were served with coffee as our breakfast of Eggs Benedict was prepared! Delicious!! Later, freshly baked cookies were waiting in the sitting room for anyone who went looking for a comfy chair and an afternoon coffee or tea! Little touches that made us wish we’d booked a longer stay!! Next time we’ll bring our books and stay for longer!

From the time we arrived till the time we left everything was more than we could ask for. We have stayed in some very posh hotels but these young men know how to treat their clientele we would highly recommend this hotel we took our bikes so we could cycle the Lochnest Trail and the boys had no problem in locking up our bikes for the duration of our stay.

5 stars across the board sometimes looks suspicious but they truly represent our experience. From the location to the charming, unique character of the house and our suite, the Latch is much more than a B&B. As with any great establishment, the staff are superb. From the friendly greeting to the professionalism in every respect David made our anniversary very special. The breakfast was exactly as advertised on there website but it was the attention to detail and of course the flavour that makes this such an exceptional experience. We would definitely recommend The Latch and will be going again.

My wife and I have been fortunate to have travelled and stayed in some of the best inns and B&Bs in the world. Due to Covid, we have been unable to travel anywhere in the last several months. We read some of the recent reviews online for The Latch Inn and decided to give it a try. Our stay was amazing. Amazing rooms, amazing historic inn, amazing grounds, amazing food, amazing views and most importantly Amazing owners. David, Dominic and Michael are genuinely some of the nicest people we have ever met. They are passionate about providing an exceptional experience. Their attention to detail is evident in the home made cookies on arrival, the chilled bottle of wine waiting for us, the freshly baked muffins in the morning and on and on and on. Although they only took possession of The Latch in June 2020, they have made it a must Stay. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful stay! And such an idyllic setting. The new owners have done a beautiful job updating the historic inn with beautiful furnishings, décor and luxurious beds and bedding.
Their combined years of running an inn/working in the hospitality business shines. They make a huge effort to provide comfort to their guests and take great pride in providing beautiful, delicious food.
Their COVID protocols are wonderful and we felt extremely safe staying there. During the recent restrictions, their dining room and lounge are not open but their amazing, made to order, breakfasts are served in the room. They also have outdoor seating, overlooking the marina where you can be served drinks and enjoy food from the many great restaurants in Sidney.
This was a vacation away from home ( but in the same region). We are lucky to have the Latch so close to home and can’t wait to go back.

This was our first year wedding anniversary and we wanted to find somewhere for a memorable celebratiion. We hit the jackpot with The Latch Inn! Imagine a 100 year old estate, on the water....wonderful craftsmanship coupled with timeless attention to detail. Our hosts were 3 inn-keepers who have recently taken over the property and have done an incredible job beautifying and updating the place. Breakfasts were amazing - fresh muffins and coffee partnered with gourmet meals such as Eggs Benny or Belgium Waffles - made a great start to the day. Our hosts were friendly and helpful and very interested to offer advice on local places to eat and enjoy. Would definitely recommend The Latch Inn and hope to come back again.

Wonderful getaway with first class hospitality provided by David and his staff. Haven't been to the Latch since our early dating days and was happy to see the former character and attention to detail has been resurrected after a period of disrepair by the previous operators.

It was wonderful from the moment we checked in, we felt very welcome and assured with the Covid protocols in place. Our room was amazing and the breakfast was so good and the presentation top notch!! Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

The new owners have done a lovely job decorating the rooms, making each one attractive and unique while enhancing the heritage features. In addition, they are welcoming and hospitable hosts. We enjoyed a great sleep in the new bed and pristine linens.

The personalized serice of the owners/operators was unparalled. Such a refreshing experience in a world where the "big box" tavel model seems to be everywhere. Their passion for the property and business is obvious and they shared many stories of the history of the property and area, giving us a connection with the property as well. All the thoughtful touches of a 5 star hotel; high end beds and bedding, pillow firmness options, incredible breakfast food and service. A truly wonderful and special experience - we are grateful to have been introduced to the Latch. We will be back.

We had a wonderful time at The Latch Inn! Every detail was attended to, from the warm welcome given us by Michael, the ease of touchless check-in, the spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated room, to the warm, overall ambience of the lodge. Owners David & Michael (and, although we didn’t meet him, Dominic) have done an exceptional job of restoring The Latch to it’s previous elegance. The old Inn has been tastefully and lovingly decorated and furnished and it reflects grace and charm at every turn.
And the breakfast…what a delight! Served in the elegant dining room, we were greeted by David and served our choice of juices, hot coffee (*their own house blend!), and delicious homemade muffins with their signature “latch key” emblem etched in icing sugar. The main dishes were made to order, with ample choices on the menu. Our choices, eggs benedict and cheese omelette, were cooked to perfection by Chef Michael, and oh, so good!
The evening prior we sipped our complimentary bottle of bubbles by the fire in the sitting room and reminisced about our first days of dating, almost 30 years ago, when we used to come to The Latch for very special, romantic dinners. We haven’t been back for many years, as sadly the place had deteriorated, but we now are thrilled to see the iconic inn restored to her former glory!
Although their dining room currently isn’t open for lunch or dinner, Michael was able to suggest several restaurants nearby and the delightful town of Sidney is but a 30-minute walk or a short drive away. There is much to see and do in the area, a great place for exploring!
The attention paid to ensuring guests and staff are “Covid-safe” is notable. Taking possession of the business on June 1, the challenge of trying to turn things around during a pandemic and begin to gather a satisfied client base would be monumental, but these three have succeeded in spades! We couldn’t have been happier with our experience, and we greatly look forward to going back again! The owners have great plans for the future, and we will follow them with delight!

What a fine experience provided for my wife's birthday! David was a gracious host, knowledgeable about the 100+year history of the building and Michael's breakfast in the morning was truly gourmet. Super service and a well-appointed, rustic ambience to The Latch.

We loved everything about our stay at The Latch Inn. We are frequent travelers and this is one of the best places we have stayed. The owners warm hospitality was the best.

We were accommodated for an early check-in and given a thorough orientation. The breakfasts were outstanding. The Governor's Suite is spacious and well-appointed. A bit more work is needed in the bathroom to bring it up to the highest standard. As this suite is not facing the marina it is very quiet, but the windows do lack some for privacy as there is a four-story condo building close by, overlooking this suite on two sides. The curtains can be partially drawn to take care of this. We found the suite quite warm overnight (it was about 5C outside) and opening the windows subjected us to the noise of the rainwater overflowing from the gutters - should be an easy fix to clear the downspouts. Our hosts, Michael, Dominic and David were terrific in every respect, despite having to communicate from behind a mask during this time of public health restrictions.
