Overview
Presiding over the north end of Woodruff Park, The Candler Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton plugs guests into Atlanta's historic downtown — iconic buildings like the Flatiron and the Olympia Building are both just a couple blocks away along Peachtree Street. In the area, you'll also find a bevy of restaurants (we're particularly fond of the soul food from Pitty Pat's Porch, three blocks away), as well as top attractions like the World of Coca-Cola, just a 12-minute walk north past Centennial Olympic Park.
The hotel itself is quite literally carved from marble, with ornate Beaux Arts-style masonry present on nearly every vertical surface — it's worth stepping into the lobby to check out the grand staircase and Tiffany chandeliers alone. The hotel also features plenty of modern amenities, like rainfall showers in the bathrooms, pillow-top mattresses and oversized windows in guest rooms.
On-site dining is currently limited to room service. Still, the food is worth spending the night in: The hotel's By George restaurant is helmed by two-time James Beard award-winning chef, Hugh Acheson, and specializes in traditional French cuisine. It also boasts a genuinely impressive roster of wines, all of which are housed in the repurposed bank vault in the basement (yes, the same one that might contain the legendary Coca-Cola recipe).

The room was not ready when we arrived, an hour and a half after check-in. We waited for an additional hour and a half. We received an apology, but nothing else was offered, not even water. It would have been nice to receive a complimentary breakfast or a discount for our patience.

Hotel was very under staffed. Room was only cleaned once during the 4 night stay even though we requested a clean. Was told that the cleaning crew was very busy and didn't have time to clean our room. No Valet for 2 days and had to self park.
