Although the inn is overlooked by high rise apartments with balconies, which makes it less private, the inn itself and its grounds are lovely, and overlook a beautiful wooded area with a pretty creek running through it. The stone walls are beautiful, and well-maintained. Guest rooms are rather small, and there are some awkward angles in some, given the slope of the roofs, but staff are anxious to please, and accommodated our taste. Some furniture elsewhere in the inn could use updating, however, as some chair coverings, etc., were noticeably shabby.

Beautiful Inn with lots of "curb appeal". Room was very inviting. Dinner was excellent and the service was second to none. Breakfast was excellent as well and we found it more than we could eat. I would highly recommend the Glenerin Inn for a spa getaway, a romantic getaway, or just a getaway.

The inn is very charming and all of the staff are friendly. Breakfast at the restaurant was included and very good, and we spent time at the spa which was beautiful.

Bedroom itself was lovely and warm for evening/morning enjoyment, and at bedtime we could open the window for adequate sleep ventilation. Full marks! All staff courteous, friendly, obliging. Fireside lobby seating cozy to enjoy apéritif before dinner. Reception staff offered choice of music. Dining room staff outstanding in service. Thanks, waiter Justin! Food excellent (except soup too salty). Breakfast portions and variety generous and very tasty. Thanks to tall blonde lady whose name we did not catch (E. Eur. origin). Spa service excellent. Ravine-side outlook gives good, peaceful "rural" appearance. Proximity of walking trails an asset.

Bathroom very cold. It relies on warm air drawn in from bedroom, but this is just not adequate. Baseboard heating no longer in operation. Inn a bit shabby, which can add to the charm but we still don't know how it qualifies for a "finest" inn. Carpet needed vacuuming, as shown by our knit slippers which kept picking up "dust bunnies" and long blonde hairs. This might be remedied by paying staff adequately and allowing them longer hours to do job properly. Tidier room would also be incentive for tipping. Mattress getting a bit soft. In-room coffee/tea seems standard in even the most modest hotels, but does not exist at the Glen Erin. Must dress and go downstairs and carry it back up. Parking to unload luggage not possible near lobby door because of fire regs. Someone must stay with the car. Suggest create one "bay" in sidewalk to accommodate this. Otherwise uphill slippery walk from parking lot. Tall buildings immediately adjacent spoil "country inn" atmosphere.

The size of the room. Very small. No heat in bathroom, one tiny chair with broken leg tiny place to hang your clothes and ceiling so low on one side you hit your head if you were not paying attention. The pillows were very hard, very uncomfortable.

I was going to use the $20 spa discount, but you had to spend $100 first, and all I wanted was a manicure, which was $55. I would have gone for the $55 manicure had I been able to use the $20 discount, but I couldn't so I forfeited it. It would be nice (and they may get more business), if you could use the $20 on anything at the spa (I understand that the RMT services were excluded from discount entirely).
