Love the location , used public transportation which was a breeze. Also close walking distance to fisherman’s wharf and Ghirardelli Square. Quiet in spite of being close to tourist sites. Will return!

Room was very good except that there was only one chair for 3 of us and that chair was not suitable for relaxing or reading. Also, no space in room to play games. Request for an additional chair was rejected. This was our only complaint, but because of this, we would not book this hotel again. Service was friendly and helpful.

The location is great — shops and restaurants are all around. The room was clean and in good shape. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Happy hour was great. And no charge for pets. What a deal!!

We loved the record player in the room and that a happy hour with beer and wine was included. The place had fun vibes.

Made a reservation for king and was given a quiet room with two doubles. When we asked for king they gave us a room overlooking the garbage cans and a very noisy fan. Wasn’t pleased about that but didn’t complain because it was like we were being “punished “ for asking for the king.

A clock in the room would be a nice thing.

Staff was very welcoming and professional. Hotel was clean and had nice amenities, including a daily complimentary happy hour. Room was nicely furnished with very comfy bed. Great location and close to public transportation, too. Overall a great experience.

Check in was quick and easy, The room was spacious and comfortable, with high quality toiletries and robes. There is a Victrola record player to play albums you can get in the lobby. I was on the first floor and it was very quiet. Very nice stay. The hotel is two blocks away from the Wharf and about five minutes to Pier 39.

Great hotel, near to all attractions at Fishermans Wharf. Modern rooms, easy check in and friendly and helpful staff. We got an room in floor 4. Amazing deal with Travelzoo. Valet parking is to expensive, with Travelzoo deal too.

HAD A PLEASANT STAY

Room was great, modern and very clean, service was outstanding.

Prior to check in we called and asked about late checkout at 2pm .We were we told because we were told because we had joined the IHG members rewards that if available no problem. Again when we checked in we asked the very helpful blonde female staff member about 3pm checkout, she said if available. Since no could check in till 4pm there should not be a problem. The next day again at 10:30am we asked at the front desk about 2pm check out . A very rude white male said No we are fully booked . I explained that we were enrolled membership and had already asked and were told since no one could check it our room until 4pm what the problem ? He then rudely said while when's house cleaning suppose to clean the room . I said at 2pm . He replied gladly just pay for another day . I said that's unacceptable as a member. Then his excuse was i didn't book the room on their website . I'm sorry I didn't get his name ,everyone else was so wonderful. The hotel was beautiful, services were great . The only thing missing was a Bible in the room lol Thank you a otherwise wonderful stay Charles Blancet

Booking was easy. Price seemed fine until we got there. There were so many additional fees per night, the stay was well over $300/night not $189 as advertised. Also, they didn’t have 2 queen beds, only 2 room with a king and an adjoining door, which was difficult given the age of my kids.

I wish they validated our parking fee, even half price would be nice instead of us looking for parking spot outside hotel.

I stayed the evening at the Alton because I didn't want to drive the 90 minutes home at night following a work obligation in the city (Dogpatch neighborhood). The deal offered by TZ at the Alton was too good to pass up. I really just stayed for one night: took a shower, slept and left the next morning. It is evident the Alton is an older property. And the photos online did not match the hotel in real life. Still, it was a pleasant enough stay and the staff was very nice.

I was surprised at the neighborhood driving to the Alton. It appeared so lovely online but the surrounding area is not so sparkly. The staff was very friendly though and valet parking is convenient and quick. I'm dedicated to Kimpton Hotels so I will always give them a priority when choosing where to stay.

Hotel is in a fantastic location, especially if going out in North Beach, the Marina, Cow Hollow or Russian Hill area.

Hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel is dated, it needs some updates, but perfectly fine for staying and value to give up a little in the decor.

It was a great stay. Good atmosphere. Room was clean and I love the coffee and Tea in the morning. The housekeeping staff are all so friendly and they say hello when you walk pass.

As First-timers to San Fransisco, we were very pleased with the location. Easy walk to the Wharf and N Beach area. The staff was very helpful. The nightly Gappy Hour was a nice touch too.

Great room, hotel was reluctant to accept the 10% restaurant as advertised. It was given as a “courtesy one time”, but I was told not to expect it again during the stay.

A very nice stay. Indeed all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, nice shower and very clean hotel. On the downside, the gym is poor. The Nespresso machine was defective and the replacement was quite “flaky “ but could be tweaked to work.

Lovely experience, with friendly staff and nicely updated rooms. I appreciated being able to check in as early as 11 AM. Wine happy hour was delightful. Half-off valet parking was a great deal -- too bad no EV charging available, though.

It was conveniently located.

I made this reservation for my son. I called in advance to tell them that he would be using my credit card to pay. The guy said no problem and was super nice. My son got there and the receptionist treated him like a criminal. Said she wouldn't accept it. She told him to get out of line until he figured it out. He couldn't believe how horrible she was. He said she was angry. He did not get out of line and had to use his card. He called me when he was dealing with her and she was very rude. He got there on the 18th.
