The thing about the Oaks Pacific Blue Resort is that it's a great place to do nothing except hang by the pool (Traveller). But, if you feel like a little bit more, the property is located just five minutes' drive from the beach and only ten minutes by car to Nelson Bay. The shops of Salamander Bay are also close by.
Studio rooms offer views of the lagoon pool and are located on the upper level. Each room has a private balcony, full kitchen and king size bed. Guests can enjoy access to four man-made "beaches" set around the lagoon pool, gym, steam rooms, jacuzzi and tennis courts.
Explore the town by bike, visit nearby Holberts Oyster Farm where you can tuck into freshly shucked oysters, spot whales as you look out from the summit of Tomaree Headland or visit Stockton Bight Sand Dunes.
There's heaps of wildlife in Port Stephens with more than 140 bottlenose dolphins residing in the waterways and wild koalas hanging out along One Mile beach. Nearby Broughton Island and Cabbage Tree Island are home to a local seal colony and rare species of petrel. You can also dive into the waters of Fly Point Park where you'll be greeted by an abundance of marine life. You can sometimes swim with giant sea turtles and also hand feed fish.
