The AA-Rosette-awarded Duke's Restaurant & Bar "focuses on tried-and-tested dishes, but more ambitious ideas are just as well handled" (The AA Restaurant Guide 2020)
The hotel is in Buckingham's town centre, a few minutes' walk from local shops and restaurants
Bletchley Park -- headquarters of the Allied codebreakers during World War II -- is a 25-minute drive from the hotel
Villiers Hotel in the historic market town of Buckingham occupies an 18th-century former coaching inn within the town centre.
Public areas of the hotel have traditional features, including an oak-beamed real-ale bar, flagstone floors and open fires -- while the individually decorated bedrooms are modern and well equipped, including satellite TV and tea- and coffee-making facilities. The on-site gym is open to all guests over the age of 16.
Duke's Restaurant & Bar has been awarded an AA Rosette for its "ambitious cooking"; the kitchen "focuses on tried-and-tested dishes, but more ambitious ideas are just as well handled", says The AA. Dishes are prepared with locally sourced ingredients, and change seasonally.
Buckinghamshire is characterised "sweeping valleys and forested hills", says Lonely Planet, and there are many historic houses in the country -- the National Trust properties Waddesdon Manor, Claydon and the Capability Brown-designed gardens at Stowe are all less than 30 minutes' drive from the hotel.
The centre of Buckingham has several historic buildings to explore, including the 18th-century Old Gaol, which now houses the Old Gaol Museum, the medieval Chantry Chapel and the Old Town Hall. Silverstone Circuit is less than 15 minutes' drive from the hotel, while Bicester Village outlet shopping centre and Bletchley Park, the headquarters of the Allied codebreaking team during the World War II, are both 25 minutes' drive away.

Went for the weekend with two other couples and found the hotel very comfortable. The staff were efficient and friendly and the location was good.
Other Comments
They were a little disorganised at breakfast on the sunday.

First time to Buckingham, the hotel was central but on a difficult to access road during busy times. Staff were pleasant at all times. Breakfast was okay and hot. Bed was comfortable and big, too many cushions for my taste! Nice history around the area, a visit to the old gaol is a must!
A few things that could be improved, signs for the larger more accessible car park would help, Wi-fi running at under 1Gbit would not even run some apps on my iPad that required downloads, information showing that one of the light switches in the room is a master switch that shuts everything off, we used a bottle of water and it was not replaced for the second night, our toiletries were not replaced for the second day, only two coffee sachets a day..we both drink coffee all day, maybe ask the builders or staff not to roll heavy noisy items across the courtyard at 06.40...
Just irritants that didn’t detract too much from our visit but would have meant five stars all the way. Thanks

We had a spacious, warm room, which included two full-sized armchairs & a good TV, with a very nice clean bathroom, complete with a vintage bath. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts. These were well-cooked & tasty, with a range of options on the menu & we were served quickly.
Other Comments
The water in the shower wasn’t very hot at 8am on both mornings.

Got a fantastic deal for 2 nights bed and breakfast. Room comfortable and easy parking on site. Good breakfast with freshly cooked food. Evening meal in restaurant also very good. Excellent location for town centre and visit to Stowe house and gardens which is just a mile or two away.

excellent centre for touring the area (Bletchley etc). Modernised comfortable room, only the creaking floors along the corridor gave away its age. Only real downside was that the temperature throughout te hotel, especially the dining room, was quite chilly

Breakfast was good and location to shops and restaurants was easy walking.
Other Comments
The room was not clean and was nothing like online photos. Dark, dated, worn out, depressing, bottom of wardrobe had dust and hair. Bathroom was mouldy.
